The shackles have a stamp on them that says wll 2t [working load limit 2 tons], which is twice the amount stated in the description. So, it's a 4000 pound wll, right?

If you're rigging 4000 lbs, go up to 3/4" or even 1" in size. With 1/2" shackles, I wouldn't exceed 1000 lbs.

What are the dimensions of the shackles?

Anything with a diameter of 3/4" or less will fit through the shackle's opening.
