Questions & Answers

The R12 is designed to roll over sand well, so I would like to use it to transport supplies on the beach. Is this possible?

It would be impossible to roll these carts over sand, but check out Magliner's wheels for their carts that roll over sand. They will give you an idea as to what you would need to manually roll the cart. Your best bet is an ATV

Can you tell me how wide it is including the tires at the back?

Approximately 20" is the width of the rear tires, while 13 1/4" is the width of the cart.

Where should the position of the push bar be from the ground to the hand?

I am 6 foot 1 inches tall and just need to reach belly high.

Selected User Reviews For Rock-N-Roller R10RT (Max) 8-in-1 Folding Multi-Cart/Hand Truck/Dolly/Platform Cart/34" to 52" Telescoping Frame/500 lbs. Load Capacity, Black

I liked the product, but the durability, inflated specs of load capacity, and finally customer service are all a problem
3/5

Minor design issues also exist. It is a valuable tool, although the load capacity is overrated, and customer service is slow to respond to problems caused by overloading. It has a sag in the telescoping squarepipe that causes heavy restriction when I attempt to expand or collapse it after it has been loaded under 300 pounds. Because this problem did not exist when I loaded it into a cab, and it did exist before it was checked in luggage, I know for sure that overloading was responsible. However, just making mention of the airplane prompted customer service to say its the bag handlers' fault. I wasn't too concerned about this communication issue as I just wanted a replacement telescoping pipe part so I could use it again more easily. While they do carry other parts such as the wheels that are prone to breaking under heavy load, they don't sell the part separately. The telescoping parts on those broke under load for me and for a client I recommended the cart for. I asked my client if they knew of anybody bending these back into shape, and he confirmed that people had found some way to bend these back into shape. So they know there is a problem here, they know it isn't easy or cheap to repair, but they aren't admitting it, they aren't providing a solution, and they aren't updating their sales specs to reflect It might be possible to distribute weight over 2 shelving units and put most of it on the largest axle side, but you cannot put 500lbs on this cart just anywhere. Not only will the square pipes bend, but the wheels wear out at just a few hundred pounds and 10 inches of pressure. You will need to roll around on hard surfaces and carpets for 20 minutes. The only way I would give this product a 4 star rating is if they sold replacement parts. It would have gotten 3 stars if the customer service didn't make me believe I was wrong about my experiences. A product's customer service is essential, and this is where it fell short for me. One other thing keeping this product from earning a 5-star rating is that it's a bit creaky, and many tolerances are There are a lot of loose parts in the whole construction, and the shelves aren't designed in an eloquent manner, making them hard to assemble and disassemble Take it apart and put it back together. When this is used by creatives, neatness is important. It's impressive that we can load it with our gear and there's a wide range of much better designed carts available. If there were another brand I would buy it as well. It's handy and unique, but I would buy any other brand over this.

Build your own deck and shelf to go on the cart
4/5

This cart is great, especially after I made it my own by adding a shelf and decking. I use mine for location photo shoots where I need to carry a substantial amount of equipment (see my photos). It is very sturdy and the length can be adjusted to your needs. In order to make my own floor deck, I glued a 1/2 piece of plywood cut to size with padded rubber walkway covering and cut that to the desired size. The slip is 24 inch wide and has a slipper foot As shown in the Here's how we set up. As long as there is load on it, it remains in position. It is not advisable to purchase the Rock and Roller optional shelving. is about 6" narrower and I think it is As soon as I bought it, I realized it was a bad design I made my own deck for about $18 and it is wider and a lot easier to get in and out of. Also, I didn't want to put an end to my shelves so I bought them as an option. Additionally, this is a really stupid design that makes setup a real pain in the posterior. (Read the reviews) I wanted something only a few people would use, something that would be easy to set up Their design is extremely clever, but I can't imagine how they came up with it considering the cart is so practical, you would expect that accessories would be too. It is all I want it to be a simple shelf. It would be a lot easier if I could weld because I don't need their shelf kit at all. A quick on, quick off top shelf was made from their support bars by turning them 90 degrees and installing horizontal supports between the handles (12" threaded rods with copper pipe I covered the threads) By gravity, the whole thing is held in place. It has been tested with over 200lbs in all kinds of rough terrain around my home and yard. The extra width on the deck and all the grips are very helpful, too As a result of slippage - Neither the shelving nor the off-shelf items moved. As an honest to goodness bettor, I am confident that this type of setup will satisfy the needs of the majority of cart buyers, making setup and transportation My review would have been 5 stars if I wasn't so allergic to it. I can live with the workmanship not being the best, but the cart works fine. In putting the wheels on, I cut my finger on a burr on a weld, and without the shelving the handles feel very sloppy with a lot of play. As well, I think the tubular construction would be more bungie cord friendly and safer than the square tube construction. *** **** Recommend I am so glad to see the There are deck and shelf kits (unless you need the shelf support bars and cannot make them yourself).

I don't think it's worth the effort
3/5

I am a DJ and a lot of people that I know are experiencing the same difficulties. It was necessary to replace the rear wheels twice because of a worn-out bearing. It was my hope that this cart would be stronger than my r12, as the frame of the wheel bent and suffered a crack. My R18 broke the same way with the wheel bearings wearing out after using it for over a year. I think it can't handle the stress of constant use even though I am below its weight limit. As I reported to my supervisor, I discovered a similar issue with a photo booth company I work with! It is not a cart you should buy if you use carts a lot. The company needs to figure out that the wheel bearings and metal frame are weak and come up with alternative options.
