The rubberized material I used had a high degree of texture. There were no issues with marring when moving regular plywood panels (one side finished). While I am not familiar with hardwood veneer, I believe a softer material could be sandwiched between the gripper and the panel for added security.

My basement is unfinished and I've got an unfinished house. I can handle dry wall and plywood without using a second pair of hands when I use this tool. Is safe to use on drywall and works well. I would strongly recommend it. I even took my truck and flat cart to the hardware store to load them in the parking lot so that it pays for itself in the first project.
I tried it Wednesday. I was both surprised and encouraged by the results. There were eight pieces of MDF board cut in half and in thirds [96x49" sheets] that I had to transport up two stairs. The Grippers would not have been able to help me achieve this. My lifting capability was improved so much that I was able to move 24 pieces of 48x48" masonite up two levels of stairs. I thank the people whose invention this gadget is and the ones who made it available on In six months, I will be 70 years old.
With this tool, carrying sheets of plywood without a helper is not only possible but also Considering that the handle and body are made of aluminum and steel (I believe), this is a very sturdy bag. There are a few reasons why I gave it four stars instead of five the aluminum part was obviously cut from a large sheet of aluminum The edges of these objects are extremely sharp as a result, so cutting oneself would not be too difficult. On one of those artsy dremel tool things, I ground down the edges with a sanding wheel. An angle grinder or bench grinder would do the job, if the manufacturer performed this process before assembly. I think overall this tool works very well with just a few small omissions. In any case, gloves are a good idea if you're handling large sheets of plywood.
The hoist is great for moving around sheets of 3/4" plywood that are 4'x8'. When one of these is on the sheet roughly in the middle, it makes it easy to pick up an entire sheet with a single hand. Pros The grip is strong and has not slipped once, and it is very easy to use just set it over the edge and lift it up. There is no material that can be picked up by this tool that is thicker than 3/4". It is unfortunate that out of 4 tests, one failed The product worked fine, but two Baltic Birch plywood sheets were dented as a result of the pressure from the tool. Overall, I recommend the product, but people need to.
Whether you are working with sheetrock, plywood, cement board, or any other material, you absolutely need this tool. Handling large sheets of paper is no problem with the grip, which is a good grip. Rather than being cumbersome and difficult to handle, these products can easily be moved with one hand, lifted with one hand, entered through doors, up stairs, and gotten in and out of a truck. Seeing as how I never want to be without mine, I keep it in my truck. I would recommend this product to everyone, because it is very sturdy, high quality, I would give it a five-star rating. I'll have to put this on my 'gift list' for folks if they're interested. Get it, even if you only use it once. It is worthy of the money.
I used the Easi Lite drywall for about 10 panels and the rubber grip began disintegrating (when used with bare hands with no tools of any kind) and the adhesive on the back of the abrasive pads developed a tendency to bunch up. I gave it 2 stars because it did make the job easier (briefly) for me and the metal frame was phenomenally built, but I was disappointed when the above mentioned parts failed, causing damage to what was being carried.
A bit harder to climb and descend the stairs on your own, so you should seek help. No, it will not fit the double packs of 1/2 inch drywall, though I have not tried it with a 1 inch board.
Despite the fact that it appeared to have a grip range of up to 1, I ordered this tool for the grip range features. I did have a few press-ons that were 18 inches wide A top of a board table to carry up the It will grip up to 15/16" in diameter. The service is going to be useful to me in the future, but I'm disappointed.
