I wanted to double check there won't be any adhesive when I put a label on the nonmagnetic side, so I wanted to make sure that the groove was visible?

In fact, I would think a label would cover the groove pretty well since the groove is on the top (nonmagnetic side). As far as the groove is concerned, it is quite thin. You might, however, depress the label into the groove with enough force that the groove shows if you press the label on hard enough. On these rolls, there is no adhesive.

Magnets can attach to themselves, but do they really work?

I used it to stick LED lights on one side of our lift, I wasn't sure what it was for

Do you have short rolls of this? Is adhesive mag tape not what you want?

These were bought so I could make window screens for my Jeep so I could safely sleep in it at night while not being eaten alive by mosquitoes or no-see-ums As far as my Jeep camping experiences go, I expect it to hold up well. Any other potential users of this kind of magnetic strip and net might want to consider these suggestions A round of netting will cover the outside of the windows and will be held in place by continuous magnetic strips sewn on to the mesh. The shields will be positioned along the edge of the windows and clipped into place with continuous magnetic strips. Due to the continuous strips on each side, I can keep them in place through strong winds, without having to worry about popping them off.
