Works perfectly as a protective bumper on the back of our horse trailer, preventing the horses from scraping/injuring the front of their back legs as they back out the trailer blindly. It was long enough to be cut in half and used on two different horse trailers, each with a 5' wide back door opening. In my application, a 1/4" d x 1" w cold (or hot) rolled steel piece slipped into the inside flat opening with Tap-It is required for assembly. The angled shape prevents the hoof from stepping onto the bumper and instead encourages it to roll off to the ground, as opposed to a square shape, protecting the leg from injury as they guess where the ground is while backing. The material is somewhat pliable, which is desirable in a bumper; it is not as stiff as fiber reinforced dock bumpers, but it is certainly durable enough to withstand abuse. In my case, it's more than adequate. This purchase has exceeded my expectations.
I cut it up into small pieces and hung it from steel garbage cans. It was easy to use and cost a reasonable amount of money.
It was an excellent solution. bumper that is built to last.
