There is nothing that can be done with this product. In this state, you cannot lock it into the locked position, so it is not useful. Upon my return from a trip, I bought this item to replace one that had gone bad. It was not a question of having a deep look at it because, well, what is there not to like about Please view the pictures, as they portray the story much better than I could. The sad part is that I ordered a second one and neglected to check it as well. I needed them immediately, but the Amazon Return date had passed by the time I needed them. Yeah, that was bad on my part for not checking, but also on the part of the manufacturer for distributing defective A minus star would have been appropriate if I could give it.
It's quite nice, and the price is very reasonable. It's better than my harbor freight ones and more durable.
A 1/4" chain fit perfectly on it, and it was easy to use.
There is no doubt that this load binder is a good value, as the quality is excellent per dollar. There are a few spots on the unit I received where there is no paint at all. However, these are places in which the paint will come off anyway during normal use of the product. In my local stores, I could get that exact same unit for more than half the price. Whenever I transport my mini tractor using this tie down, it is my primary means of securing it.
I expected it to be like this.
