Hello- They'll last a few months if they're sterile (at least three). Refrigeration is recommended, but it is not required.
Hello- br>br>This is a single package weighing 10 grams.
Depending on how heavy the pour is, 15 100mm petri dishes may be required.
It's only the agar powder that's causing the problem. Before using it, you must combine it with water and bring it to a boil. It solidifies as it cools. It worked perfectly for my son's science project, which involved testing the 5 second rule.

My daughter's science fair project involved growing bacteria from school objects in petri dishes, so we ordered the agar for her. Preparing the agar and pouring it into the petri dishes were both simple tasks. However, bacteria grew on the petri dishes before she swabbed them, so we had to start over and order sterlized prepared petri dishes. I'm not sure what we could have done differently to ensure that the agar remained sterile during the manufacturing process.
For a microbiology class, I used another type of nutrient agar. I needed more agar and needed it delivered the next day, so I bought this product, which was cloudy and didn't pour clear like the other agar I had used. You should buy this if you're desperate, but there's better stuff available.
At first, I thought this would be a dud because nothing grew until 72 hours had passed, but after a slow start, these worked great and my daughter's culture grew beautifully! This is a simple and inexpensive alternative to buying pre-made meals. Petri plates were created.
It . I bought this for a science project in my class. It worked well and produced a larger amount of agar base than I had anticipated.
For the price, there isn't much, but everything else is as it should be.
But it gets the job done.
In just one day, some of my bacteria began to multiply! By the second day, almost every one of my petri dishes had some bacteria in it. I thought I had done something wrong because I didn't use distilled water, but I was wrong. And as I scooped the agar onto my petri dish, it was starting to harden. TIP = It may become clumpy, but that's okay; it'll still work. If you don't want the agar to clump, scoop it into your petri dish as soon as possible.
Last time I bought regular agar, but the nutrient stuff works better in petri dishes.
