How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

Designed for heavy duty use, these electrician's scissors are made of chrome vanadium steel and reinforced with a special hardening process for greater durability and cutting performance.
Hand fatigue is reduced by engaging blades at the last third of the blades through a free fall hinge, which is loose enough to allow fingertip operation.
CUT One of the blades has a serrated edge which holds the wire in place for a cleaner cut
Besides ripping notches, stripping notches are designed specifically for 18-20 AWG and 22-24 AWG wires
A scraper and file are conveniently located on the back of the blade for ease of use

Is it possible to cut Kevlar with these?

In the past, I have used these types of scissors to cut kevlar strands inside fiber optic cables. By the end of the day, the scissors were very dull. This was a brand new pair of If you're cutting kevlar, you should use kevlar cutters. Don't use electrician scissors for this task.

Does a screwdriver allow you to easily take apart these scissors?

After over a year of using my Xacto knife, I haven't felt the need to take anything apart, using it every day to cut waxed string, Velcro, and optical fiber cables. The production work I do is not mine. The amount of time I spend using the program is between lite and

I did not get along with it
3/5

I have been in the telco industry for over 35 years and I can honestly say that these are the worst snips I have It may be loose, too tight, dull and the tips may not be present when new snips arrive in the mail. This is a product I purchased ten pairs of last year, which I gave to each of the guys I work with for Christmas last year. A pair of additional shoes were recently purchased In the first pair, the shoes were too tight, while in the second pair, they were We were unable to remove any window from any of the plates we use because both pairs of scissors did not have tips at the ends. Putting Fluke or Klein back on the table.

I received these electrician / lineman scissors for a reasonable price, and the quality of them is very good
3/5

They can easily cut through low voltage, small gauge cables such as CAT-5e Although I do not know what gauge these will work on, I'm sure they would be great for telephone and data network cables. There's only one thing that I don't like about these scissors the finger holes are a little The finger holes were a bit tall for my fingers, but I was able to pop them out quite easily. To handle the cutting, stripping, and trimming of the ends at once, I created a new workflow in which all of this was done at once, then I crimped the ends. Although it's not a deal breaker, it is something to consider when you have a large job to complete, or if you are running from room to room punching.

I do not like Fluke D Snips as much
3/5

It has the same feel to it. It turned out to be a lot cheaper than Fluke D Snips and similar in appearance to them. But they feel less sharp and are a bit softer than Fluke D Snips. It depends on how long they last. I will purchase Fluke again when they wear out. Update

This is the second one I've bought and the first is worn and rough to the point that it was difficult to cut one cat6. In other words, it lasted for two I expect the 2nd half of the year to take 2 months. I'm ordering fluke d snips as a back-up in case these don't work out.

I am pleased with this set of electrical scissors
5/5

It was bought as a replacement from a pair that I got with an Ethernet cable running and terminating kit. is a better pair than the one I previously Straight out of the case, these knives are sharp. As they came from the factory stiff, I did have to loosen the center screw a little bit. There are barely any stiffness left in them now. I use cable networking and these work very well in the office and home environments where I work.

Having purchased what I needed, I was delighted that they were able to handle the job I needed them to do
5/5

While they are somewhat uncomfortable to use due to the size of the finger holes, these sturdy scissors are perfect for cutting more difficult materials than one should in a normal pair of scissors. I wouldn't think they're good for extended use just an occasional snip here and there would suffice.

Casual users should be okay with this
3/5

Overall, this is an okay product. I think I'll return to Klein and keep this as my This makes it difficult to snip any kind of cable tie and it takes a bit more effort to cut through cable such as cat6 because the point is rounded. I was able to trust them more than my 3yo klein before leaving them on an installation. Overall, they're okay if you typically use them but I wouldn't recommend them if you're continually using them.

TAKES METAL TAPES AND CUT THEM
5/5

Despite their thin metal cutting capability, I liked the scissors because metal rulers in woodworking tools are often made of thin metal rulers such as these. I used these scissors to trim the metal ruler on the fence of my Kreg router table after it was installed. It came with a metal ruler on the fence that had to be trimmed after installation. This job was very well done with the scissors.

This is a 5 star rating
5/5

This is a very sharp and powerful word. The same as a Low voltage is the best use for these. No idea what is so bad about the reviews. As with the fluke ones I also bought from Amazon, mine were exactly the same. To open them, you need to use your ring finger. They feel snug, but can be opened easily. The cable cutters are very easy to use with Belden cat 6 and coax. It will be half the price of fluke if I stick up.
