Questions & Answers

Can anyone help me anodize titanium? Currently trying to get the voltage to be high enough, but cannot get it on larger pieces. ?

Who or what are you connecting your negative anode with? Are you talking about a steel rod? Using a stainless steel bowl with a plastic strainer placed inside, I make a big bowl of soup. Separation is achieved by the strainer by making sure that your piece and the negative don't come into contact.

Would you kindly send me a certificate of calibration for the unit? Thank you. It is my pleasure to work with you, Steve O. ?

I do not believe it did. In addition, I checked to see if it had a calibration sticker on the unit, and it did A lot of metal has been anodized with it, and it has worked well.

Do the alligator clips come with this item? I would like to get the cathode, but where do I get it?

It is the red positive terminal that is called a cathode. A banana plug and an alligator clip are shipped with the device.

Are the volts and amps adjustable? If so, how far can the range be set?

From 0V to 120V, the voltage can be adjusted There is a 120V socket in the room. The amount of voltage is incremented by 1V. Adjusting amperage is something I am not familiar with. don't know if you will be able to

The anodizer works well with titanium
5/5

You can anodize titanium, which is probably one of the coolest experiments you can do. The activity is akin to dyeing easter eggs for adults, only much more hazardous. There is nothing better than this machine at doing This is a much more satisfying way to create gradients than using daisy chained 9V batteries, and it is easier to adjust the voltage if you have someone to help you move the piece while you submerge it in We are still having trouble reaching the fabled green despite the fact that we have the voltage to reach This is most likely a problem with our technique, not the device, because this thing works like a charm. There are three colors that are easy to obtain br>Colors that are difficult to get yellow, black, golden bronze, purple, steel blue, shiny gold, pink againbr>Colors that are hard to get I'm seeing blue, cyan, and green again.

This does the job like a champ

As I am new to Titanium Anodizing, I cannot give too many details about the machine, other than to say that it works flawlessly for me so far holding several pieces that I have anodized. My main purpose for purchasing this was to sharpen knives, and for the price I think it is hard to beat. The machine is sold under a variety of different brand names on other websites, and some of those websites charge nearly double the price The alligator clips and wires that came with it were easy to use and I haven't had any issues with them. The tool is very good.

The voltage increased from 60 volts to 198 volts on its own! There is a maximum voltage rating of 125 volts
3/5

Before the unit failed and output dangerously high over voltage within 2 weeks and 4 or 5 uses, the unit barely lasted 2 weeks. The fire didn't just burst into flames, so I'm glad it didn't damage everything. This unit clicks and pops from the voltage regulator which is normal for this style of unit, but I had set the voltage to 60v and checked it after using it. In the end, the unit on its own with nothing connected jumped from 60V to 198V! After this point, the voltage on the unit was not lowered and the lights in the room quickly dimmed. After unplugging and turning off the device, I immediately switched it off. In order to be sure before returning the unit, I returned the plug and powered on the unit. It immediately jumped to 198 volts and would not adjust. It will jump from 196 volts to 199 volts, but it won't go beyond that. being returned now, and I am hesitant to purchase another, as we have purchased the exact same units via Amazon and many other sites online. We can tell by the case design that they are all the same units we have purchased just rebranded for a different company. Several different companies are represented on the badge.

I thought the price was very good

The purpose of this is to anodize titanium, as most do. Throughout my career as an Electrical Engineer, I have been involved with benchtop power supplies a lot. Have you found this to be the nicest one you have ever I definitely wouldn't recommend it! It's also a 120VDC power supply for $150 at that price. According to BK Precision, a power supply with the same voltage and current would cost at least a grand. I expected only that I'd get a Power Supply that could provide 1 amp of power at 100 volts, and I received that. Since I intended to simply hook my DMM in parallel to read the voltage output instead of the screen, the voltage output on the screen was not even necessary to be accurate. As a result, I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. Using the DMM directly connected to it, I read the output from 0VDC to 8VDC A 120VDC plug and the display will come on in less than one second. One V. It is true that this is done under no load conditions, but oh well. I am not going to waste my time reading the output under loads of different types. There is only one thing I dislike about it, the leads that come with it are not up to par. I personally wouldn't use them to carry an amp of current, but I'm sure they will work. Due to this, I almost gave it four stars, but then I realized that we are talking about a $150 power supply that would still be worth that even if it did not come with any leads. Instead of using a better set of leads that I had lying around, I just used a better set I had lying around. I have not measured voltage ripple or anything to confirm, but again, it works fine for the intended purpose I bought it for (anodizing), so I don't really plan on measuring the ripple with an oscilloscope. There are also no restrictions on scope. Despite the expensive price, this power supply is quite decent for the price. However, the leads could use a bit more beef, so if you want stronger lead plugs, buy a rugged set.

Failing at a high price
3/5

After a few months (very little use) , it ceases to work. While the seller was helpful in directing me to the "manufacturer", they were unhelpful, and their "1 year warranty" is not what it appears to be. It might take you an hour to send emails and talk on the phone before you realize it's.

Anodizing titanium with a power supply that is right for you
5/5

Quite an impressive piece of equipment this is! Previously, I anodized with 9V batteries for the longest time on my YouTube channel, but decided to upgrade to a power supply since I also anodize for my ring business. My new experience has been wonderful. I am thrilled I made the decision to wait so long. You will be able to achieve all the different anodizing colors in the range with this power supply, and setup is a piece of cake!.

Titanium is a great material! Great purchase! I am extremely happy with it
5/5

My favorite thing about it is its simplicity. I anodize titanium with it and it's easy to As someone who had never used one before, I was able to get it from new to use within minutes of opening the box. I have found it to be reliable so far Other people have mentioned a number of issues, but I have not had them. Power supplies like this are highly recommended!.

Stainless steel anodized in titanium
3/5

My first titanium anodizing machine, so I am not sure about the value of this machine. Compared to the larger machines, it was the less expensive option. As far as I can tell, so far, it's simple to use, comes with the wires, and has a one-year warranty from.
