Questions & Answers

What's the best way to get the battery cap open?

Separate the bottom base (grey cap at the bottom) with a sharp plastic knife. This is where the two small batteries are kept in the battery holder.

Is it possible to use it to determine the temperature of boiling water?

It does not measure the amount of pollutants or chemicals, but it does measure the amount of pollution and chemicals. This isn't a thermometer, by the way.

What is the procedure for reading an EC meter? It displays a large number of items. I'm looking for extremely small numbers, such as (5). ?

Hi Jonah, the EC meter's default unit is us/cm, which cannot be changed. If you want the value to appear smaller, divide by 1000, and the unit becomes ms/cm (1ms/cm=1000us/cm). Thanks!

What does "Concuctivity" (exact spelling) mean in the manual? What is the meaning of "us/cm" - What is the significance of this reading?

Water conductivity is a number that indicates an aqueous solution's ability to conduct current and is closely related to the mineral content of the water. It can be used to detect changes in dissolved mineral concentrations in water as well as estimate the amount of ionic compounds present.
2. The amount of electrolyte in water has a direct relationship with its conductivity. The greater the charge and conductivity within a given concentration range, the higher the ion concentration. As a result, the total ion concentration or salt content in the water can be inferred indirectly using this indicator.
3. Fresh distilled or ion exchange water has a conductivity of zero. 2uS/cm. It may rise to 2-inches after a few weeks of storage. Carbon dioxide and ammonia in the air are absorbed at a rate of 4 uS/cm. Natural water's conductivity ranges from 50 to 100. The conductivity of clean river water is between 100 and 500 uS/cm. 300 uS/cm, with highly mineralized water reaching 500-600 uS/cm. 1000uS/cm is a unit of measurement for electrical current density. Industrial wastewater can have a conductivity of over 1000 uS/cm, and water containing high inorganic salts can have a conductivity of over 10000 uS/cm.
4. As the temperature rises, so does the conductivity. The conductivity increases by 2% to 2 for every 1°C increase in temperature increase in temperature increase in temperature increase in temperature increase in temperature increase in temperature increase in temperatur 5%. The standard temperature for measuring conductivity is usually set at 25 degrees Celsius.

It's simple to read and understand, and it works well
5/5

TLDR: br>Extremely simple to use/read, accurate (as long as you know what your water "should" be), and the temperature and EC features are extremely useful. Detailed Review: br>br> br>I bought this to monitor TDS in my fish tank. TDS levels should be less than 300 ppm in most cases. If you raise the temperature too high, your fish or shrimp may become ill. Because particles and sediment enter the water column when the tank's landscape changes, the TDS can skyrocket. I started with my tap water (110 ppm) as a baseline, then moved on to my established aquarium (180 ppm). On the first day, the TDS in my new fishtank with brand new rocks was 410 ppm, but after a few days, it was 215 ppm, so I know TDS won't be an issue if I add fish now! br>Also, some fish species are extremely sensitive to temperature changes (and changes in water conditions in general), so having a precise temperature measurement device will be beneficial. Now, I'm not sure what an EC for tap water or a fishtank should be, but my tap water measured 220 us/cm, while the fishtank measured around 400 us/cm. As a result of this device, I am now aware of a potential issue that could harm my fish.

The water tester is fantastic
5/5

After conducting numerous tests with this meter, I can confidently state that it is excellent and versatile: it is quick, easy to use, and compact and lightweight, and it allows for the testing of a variety of parameters. br>I've been able to test the quality of tap water and various brands of bottled water on my own, and I'm keeping an eye on the performance of the filters I have at home (in the fridge and pitcher). I notice that they do a good job, and I keep track of the differences between them as well as how they deteriorate over time. That way, I'll be able to estimate when they need to be replaced. This meter comes highly recommended from me. It has exceeded my expectations.

It's possible that you'll never know whether or not this works
3/5

It's difficult to read the display. When the lcd is turned on, all of the segments are dark. To get a reading, I need to figure out the best viewing angle. Is the information correct? We have no way of knowing. I spent 15 years as a full-time meteorologist, so trust me when I say - At least two liquid solutions are required to verify accuracy. One's ppm must be near the bottom of your instrument's operating range. The other's ppm has to be in the upper echelon. If both solutions are correctly displayed, you may have a reliable instrument. In this step, you're only checking the value of'span. ' Additional, evenly spaced test points through the middle of the test range would be required to check for 'linearity. ' You will never know if an instrument is truly accurate unless it is tested against a known and/or universal standard. Even so, the test must be repeated on a regular basis - Begin with three-month intervals to get a feel for the process. Best wishes to you.

Aquarists' Tool at a Low Cost I'm new to testing water parameters in my aquarium, but it was recommended that I do so for the sake of my fish's health
5/5

This water metering device came highly recommended. The price is very reasonable, it's simple to read, it works right away, and - based on what I've seen - with precision In addition to my aquarium water, I tested distilled water, filtered water, and tap water. The outcomes were all spot on. It converts between standard and metric units quickly and accurately, and it also measures water temperature. I like how it "holds" the readings after you remove it from the water so you can review them or write them down. This is a purchase that I am extremely happy with.

A tds/temperature meter that appears to be accurate and inexpensive
5/5

I purchased the product primarily to determine when to replace the media in my Rodi filtration system, but I also used it to test our tap water, water from the refrigerator filter, and water from our Brita pitcher. The readings were all correct: br>br> tds 0 ppm for distilled water purchased, 0 ppm for tap water Rodi filtered water has a ppm of 1, tap water has a ppm of 320, and refrigerator filtered water has a ppm of 220. The water in the Brita pitcher had a tds of nearly 350 ppm. higher than tap water that hasn't been filtered – despite the fact that the filter was still within the manufacturer's product lifetime estimate The reading dropped to 248 ppm after the pitcher's filter was replaced. The temperature reading corresponds to that of a reef aquarium thermometer. br>br>It's a great deal if the meter lasts.

Quick and dependable; It's easier to read with the backlight on
5/5

Keep up with the latest news. We get our water from the Edwards Aquifer, which is located in the Texas Hill Country. The water percolates through the limestone and has a mid-range temperature. For everyday water needs, this is a good range of quality. This TDS METER allows you to get a quick reading of your water's dissolved solids. The total dissolved solids in our water supply can be measured in a consistent manner. This product is very useful, with a red backlight for high TDS and a green backlight for acceptable levels on the digital screen. The range can be seen right away! AMMZO has created a fantastic product.

This is a fantastic, simple recipe
5/5

read and color a picture TDS meter needs to be changed! I bought this TDS meter to compare water types for use in my ice machine, as I wanted to make sure I was using water with the fewest total dissolved solids possible, so the machine would last as long as possible. and wear that large mineral deposits might otherwise bring. br>br>The meter functioned perfectly. It turned red (420 mg/l) when I put it in my tap water. The spring water (240 mg/l) was still red when I got there. After that, it went through reverse osmosis (24 mg/l) and turned green. Finally, I checked the purity of the distilled water (1 mg/l). br>br>I'm relieved to learn that the reverse osmosis system is in good working order, and that my ice machine will have a longer life expectancy.

It does what it says
5/5

Purchased to test the solids in our drinking water after it had been filtered through a new refrigerator filter. When compared to the incoming tap water, that filter does almost nothing to remove solids. As a result, I decided to invest in a reverse osmosis system. Solids fell from a high of over 500 to a low of about 15. This monitor will be used to ensure that the RO system is performing at its best.
