Questions & Answers

Do you mean to test the oxygen content of water with it? Do I have the option of using it for fish farming?

I do not only use it to check how much dissolved oxygen there is in the water, but also to make compost tea.

This unit reportedly logs more than one reading at a time? (Or do you need to log each reading on your paper ?

Logging of readings is not possible with this unit. Then, write down the details, and go on from there.

The tip of the boat that goes into the water is how wide?

A little more than half an inch is at the tip.

Is this device able to measure the dissolved oxygen in a solution of 1% sacarose in water?

The meter I use for rivers and ponds is broken. There is no idea whether it is

A meter that measures the entry level
3/5

I don't know. Every day on the fish farm, rain or shine, hot or cold, we use a number of meters. When one of the other meters went down, I purchased this emergency backup meter, which I can use to lend to a customer or keep for myself when the other meter goes down. Considering how low the price was, it was possible to afford to lose it and not be concerned. A few observations This reading is about two degrees C below what it should be. The meter loses the altitude setting every time you shut it off, so you must re-set it each time If you turn the device on every time, you need to enter the altitude correction. It is taking a long time for the meter to read. There is a problem with placing the probe where you want it, since it floats. A very unstable reading is reported by the probe It is impossible to know what size it will be unless placed in a stream of water constantly. In this case, the meter does not deal well with super saturated readings. My probe froze once after I removed it from a warm, humid building into the cold outside. Here's what I did I took it out of a warm, humid building with plenty of moisture already absorbed into the probe. Be sure not to place the meter in a rainy or humid environment. No matter how you want to look at it, it's not water-resistant. As a result, if there is nothing to turn to at the moment, then This will not satisfy you if you are looking for accuracy, consistency, and durability. Simply by spending a few more dollars, you can find much better choices.

The calibration process was a bit confusing for me at first, but I was able to make contact with technical support and they walked me through it
5/5

It can be used to monitor aquarium oxygen levels day and night, and at different depths, to ensure the stocking density does not deplete the aquarium. Based on calibration, this product is very accurate. The technical support was easy to access and walked me through the calibration process when I had difficulty understanding it at first. That's very kind of you. We might buy other products from them in the future.

I started my day with a DO meter that did not work
3/5

I had a DO meter that was late for installation and that wouldn't turn on after the self-start. There was a problem with staying put and looking at some other people's comments suggests others had the same problem. As a result, I have returned the device and will try another in order to determine if it was just a bad device and I will Unfortunately, there are no instructions for how to set it up and it seems to be too complicated to get it working.

A handy instrument to measure the water quality in aquaponics systems
5/5

Being able to travel light without lugging around a meter box is quite convenient. This is the device I use to measure water quality in fish tanks and aquaponics. Using this handheld, you can quickly find out the temperature. As soon as the oxygen reading stabilizes, it takes about 20 to 30 seconds to return to the standard value. The calibration and adjustability of this unit make it particularly useful for carrying around in one's pocket or hanging from one's.

I am not happy with the Since I've owned these OD meters and OD probes for the past 5 years, I have bought a lot of them
3/5

For a long time, I had no problems, but on two of my recent orders, one came DOA and the other When it comes to the DOA unit, they offered to repair it instead of exchanging it or refunding it. I'm sorry to hear that. My search for a different brand will have to start now.

A simple and easy-to-use system
3/5

In October 2016, this piece was purchased. A simple and easy-to-use system. Additionally, the display displays the temperature of the disolved oxygen. The problem is that it works very slowly. From January 2017 to present, I have stopped working entirely. The screen displays 00 after it has self calibrated. The DO and T must each be 00. As long as it was operational, it worked fine.

Is it waterproof? I've got it! We found the Extech "waterproof" DO Meter dead when we attempted to use it a second time
3/5

As soon as we removed the cap, the entire inside of the meter was flooded with water and It is either the outside water found its way into the meter, or the fluids around the probe stayed inside. This was either a useless purchase or the failure of this device impaired a study in some way. You will not be looking to buy Extech anytime soon around here!.
