The meter I used for the first time was a Having said that, I am a commercial fisherman and we tend to keep most of our house packed. By using this system we are able to load the tanks and needlessly know whether there are still more spots to fill or if it's time to remove some. The device reads fast and lets us adjust settings instantly. Our salinity is set to four parts per thousand and the readings seem to be consistent. My experience with the DO meters with membranes is that they are fragile and a bit of a pain. Despite being used hard for four months, we haven't had any problems with this one. It has a good backlight, reads well in dirty water, and is currently working for us. It might have been 20 or more Using a pair of batteries for 25 hours is feasible. Be sure to keep some spares on hand. If I could have a cord that goes deeper in the water column, I could test oxygen concentration and water temperature there.

Since I was a child, I dreamed of having a Koi pond. One day, my husband said they were too much work and I decided to have one put in since it wouldn't be that hard, right? It's like having big goldfish around, isn't it? Yes, that's not really how it works and I tried to eat the fish, but they kept dying. I then realized that different factors had to be tested for in water (such as oxygen or pH levels), and that testing the water in some cases wasn't as straightforward as it should be. A pH strip is dipped in ph solution. There are a lot of steps involved when it comes to oxygen. I cannot emphasize how much easier it is to use this device. There is a fair degree of accuracy with the readings. I cannot use it if I need exact spot on measurements every time. When taken minutes apart, they are always close. For my needs, this is fine, but for someone with this need it I had to deduct a star for that reason. This tool would be given five stars right away for its simple use and quality (it comes in a nice soft shell tool case).
