You have raised an excellent point. Despite the fact that the gear teeth are the same in all sizes, each notch in the gear dispels less fluid due to the smaller volume of the pump. The accuracy of small pumps is therefore better due to this.
According to Fred M., my opinion is the same as Fred M.'s. For serological pipettes of 1 and 2 mL, I use this, and it works fine. I am not sure what brand or type it is from Karter.
As a syringe, it works the same way. The pipette is attached to a measuring device precise liquid measurements can be taken. The syringe is easier to use and more accurate than the needle.
