I've used several cases of this adhesive and am blown away by how strong the bond is. Furthermore, you have a small window of opportunity after application to make adjustments to the pieces - That is a huge plus for me because I work mostly alone. In addition, unlike caulk, the flow rate is more controlled, cold weather does not necessitate Superman-like grip strength, and one can go on and on in comparison to caulk. br>br>Another benefit I see is that there is no thickness to this. When using too much caulk, it can become messy, and if the material is thin, it can cause distortion. There's also the foam's property; even though it's a construction adhesive, it still has some of the same advantages as foam. The excess rigid insulation around the edges of the joist pockets prevented leakage caused by miscuts or irregularities. br>Another big advantage of foam guns is the length of the wands available; I know there are rolling caulk guns, but the cost is prohibitive for me. . . give me a foam gun with a 2' wand and I don't have to bend over or be at eye level with an application above my head, and I'm good to go. Furthermore, the bond is unaffected by a small amount of moisture. I tested this with some landscape stones, and they do not break apart when bonded with this, unlike caulk, which will allow the stones to pop apart if caught just right on a cold day. br>br>Overall, I am sold; I will keep tuned construction adhesive on hand, but the foam will be my preferred product. If you haven't tried the pro grade great stuff yet, I strongly advise you to do so.
