Questions & Answers

Has anyone tried this to see how acidic a facial serum is? I'm specifically looking for a ph test or a vitamin C serum test. ?

I haven't done any of that. I made kombucha with it.

How many tests can you perform with a single roll of the dice?

It depends on how frugal you are with the length you cut off for each test; I use about 1/2 an inch, so you should be able to get 360 tests out of it based on that calculation.

I ordered this product, and the instructions state that buffered solutions are best for the papers. What exactly does this imply?

Buffers are components in chemistry that influence the ability of a solution to change pH. In the natural world, water, for example, has a mild-tasting flavor. or weak- Hydroxide, carbonate, and bicarbonate (from carbon dioxide dissolved in the water) as well as hydrogen ions provide buffering capacity. The buffering capacity of rainwater is even lower. Water's pH can be easily changed by adding small amounts of acid or alkaline substances. br>Strong buffering capacity can be found in our blood and good garden soil. Because there are so many different buffers present, it takes more acidic or alkaline additions to raise or lower the pH. br>Weak buffers have a low ion content, whereas well buffered solutions have a higher ion content. Different testing strips are made for low and high ion solutions in most labs. This is the test strip to use unless you're testing extremely pure water or other low-ion solutions. It's what we use in our kombucha-making process. a solution with a lot of buffering

Is it possible to use my own urine as the test solution to determine the ph levels in my body?

Yes, you can use these to test your body ph, but the results won't be very accurate. the 5. 5 to 8. You'll get a closer result if you set the value to 0. 2 range. br>Saliva is more difficult to test because it is affected by food, drink, smoking, chewing gum, brushing teeth, and so on. It's best to test two hours after participating in these activities, or first thing in the morning. Excess saliva should be spit out, and new saliva should form on the tongue. Put saliva in a cup or spoon, then dip test paper in it and read the results right away. Thank you very much! br>br> br>br>Insert the bl>br>insert the bl>insert the

Great product for determining the pH level of my kombucha
5/5

Great product for determining the pH level of my kombucha. Readings that are simple to use and accurate. I strongly advise using a pair of forcepts because the colors are extremely staining (fingertip stains for several days).  .

It's fantastic! I wish I had chosen this as my first option
5/5

I first bought an electronic meter, but it never worked, so I returned it. This is what I got to try with my Kombucha, and it's a clear winner! You can use as much or as little of the strip as you like (I only use a small amount at a time; there's no need for more if you're just dipping it in), and the results are instantaneous and precise. There is no need for calibration or additional chemicals. br>br>Other reviews warned that it would stain your fingers, but I've never had that problem. I simply dip it in, take a quick reading, and discard it. I placed a napkin next to the item I was testing so that I could write it on it as soon as I finished reading it. It's fantastic! I wish I had taken this route the first time around!.

I was in desperate need of these because I was constantly getting yeast infections
5/5

Thanks . I was in desperate need of these because I was constantly getting yeast infections. With the help of these strips, I've discovered that I'm usually more alkaline and can now figure out how to avoid yeast infections.

Perfect, and it works perfectly! Lemon juice and white vinegar were put to the test, and the results were promising
5/5

Both received a score of two. Tested apple cider vinegar and got a 3, which is also perfect; you just want to make sure you read the results right away, as the instructions say, before they fade. Many people complain about color bleeding onto their fingers and staining them. It hasn't happened to me yet, despite the fact that I use the tiniest piece of paper available. Simply dip a small portion of the tip into whatever you're testing; you don't need to dunk the entire tip. I hope this information is useful. When I was reading these reviews, this was the type of information I was looking for.

Ideal for determining pH levels
5/5

I've been canning for a while but was always concerned that certain foods, such as salsa, tomatoes, or apple sauce, wouldn't be safe without the addition of lemon juice. After consulting freshpreserving, I learned that the pH of the food for water bath canning had to be below 4. 6 for a safe can. Well, I needed an easy way to test, and after looking at the electronic testers, I realized that I didn't want to spend that much money, so I came across this neat little product that is basically a roll of litmus paper in a dispenser with a handy color chart. I've used it several times since - It's as simple as that, and it gives you peace of mind. Some people have complained about it staining their fingers in reviews, but I haven't had that problem because I use it carefully and sparingly. What a wonderful discovery!.

It was exactly what I was looking for

With the help of, you can learn about the limits of pH paper. For my purposes, 5 increments is ideal. I plan to use it primarily for homebrewing purposes, such as determining the acidity of sanitizing solutions and the pH of the wort. In a perfect world, I'd spend $100 on a good digital pH pen. 01 accuracy isn't important to me right now; all I want to know is if I'm close. br>br>I put the paper through its paces with StarSan, an acidic sanitizing solution, and the strips came back with a pH of 2. 5 - I then diluted the solution with tap water, tested it again, and got a result of around 3. 5 - awesome. I tested just the tap water, and the paper instantly turned dark green, indicating that the pH is likely well above 6 (around 7). The results are satisfactory to me. I'm excited to put it to the test with some wort. br>br>The dispenser is simple to operate. The only drawback is that the paper can turn your fingers green when you touch it. I'll try tweezers next time.

This is the best one yet
5/5

So I went through all of the reviews for the various pH testers before deciding on this one. I'm so glad I did because it turned out great. I used it to show kids how different drinks (e. g. , soda) have different pH levels. They loved seeing the green and orange/red colors appear (gatorade, coke, milk, water, and so on). The texture was not too thin in my opinion. It can stain your fingers, according to one of the other reviewers. if you plan on keeping it for a long time- but it's not a big deal; With some soap and water, it can be removed. Overall, I was very pleased with it, and if I were to repeat this "experiment," I would buy it again. I don't think I'll need to do that for a while because there are plenty of testing strips and rolls in there.

Simple, clear color chart that is simple to read and match to the paper's result
5/5

I bought this and used it to test the pH of a dog shampoo I had bought. The entire system was delivered in a small box. The test paper was wrapped in foil and kept in a plastic case. I took the paper out of the foil and inserted it into the dispenser. I tore a piece of paper and dipped it in shampoo, and voila! It gave me the shampoo's pH right away, confirming what I had suspected - that the shampoo was not suitable for canine use! br>br>I bought two different kinds of pH testing strips to make sure I got it "right. " With three different color indicators, the other appeared to be quite fancy. However, I believe the three colors were more difficult to match to the legend and read than this one. This one produced a bright, vivid color that was easy to match to the legend. br>br>I only wish I had this newer pH strip when I reviewed the dog shampoo because it would have shown that the pH was as acidic as it is now! A pH of three is ideal. It is not acceptable to charge $5 for a dog shampoo! The toxic goo dog shampoo is shown below, along with the pH strip results (non-toxic). My fingers were holding the strip that I dipped into the glob of shampoo in the colored part).
