There is no flat surface for the filter and it is raised. Filter paper made by the 185mm diameter does not seal when diluted in water. Flat glass marbles helped to ensure that my filter was in balance.

There are no better bourbon funnels than these "golidlocks" ones. Because I was using a much smaller buchner funnel, the filtering of water up to >750 mL was taking time. It is easy to handle, large enough, and large enough to work on without being bulky. For your filtration I recommend this funnel. Compared to larger coffee filters I own in my lab, its performance is drastically reduced while still maintaining adequate amount of filtration. Despite its fragile state, it can be handled carefully.

I love this system. Approximately twice the flow -- rt - 2x the flow- funnels that serve as my little funnels. A larger surface should be smaller. Longer batches also tend to require more time. Two more need to be bought if stocks are running low.
