This funnel is durable, so I can easily wash it and hang it up to dry after disinfecting it. While still a big funnel inside the nozzle, I'd like it to be just a little bit smaller. My oak barrel doesn't have a bung hole big enough for it, and my intentions were to use it as a strainer. Still, I am able to use all of my other brewing vessels with it.
A funnel's neck lacks an adequate number of ribs within which to allow it It is possible to build up pressure in the funnel if you allow any liquid level to build up between the bottle neck and the funnel. The liquid would then be pushed up the sides. When the funnel opening does not extend far enough further than the neck, such as on a carboy, this happens.
Materials are important to me because I generally don't use plastic if I can get stainless steel or glass (although it's hard to find a funnel that's large enough in stainless steel). Moreover, I think materials that are easy to clean and durable are the best. There are many reasons to buy this funnel, including the fact that it is autoclavable, so I have many options when it comes to sterilizing I can fit my 8 inch kitchen strainer inside it and it fits neatly in my 5 gallon carboy. You get the job done with it!.
It was cracked when it first arrived, so it had to be returned. This funnel does a good job, but it is priced too high.
It's a great product.
I could make wine and beer with no problem with this.
The funnel is what it is. It works like a funnel, that's all I can say.
