If you don't feel like working because it's a cloudy day, simply use them "as is" with a propane torch and your favorite glass rails for some inspiring crafting projects.
These straws have extremely thick walls, making them far more durable than other glass straws I've purchased, such as Hiware glass straws, which cannot be dishwashed due to heat cracking and breaking! These straws, on the other hand, are dishwasher safe and can withstand high temperatures. My sister even keeps one in her purse to replace the plastic straws she throws away. They aren't the right size for boba, but I didn't buy them to drink boba through. I bought these to reduce plastic waste, because they're dishwasher safe, and to use with my morning smoothies/protein shakes, and they've worked out perfectly.
Please note that the inner diameter is NOT 2mm if you purchase this item. The outer diameter is 12mm and the walls are about 2mm thick, but the product's name is a little misleading.
AS A MATTER OF FACT, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW AMAZON ALLOWS SELLERS TO USE A BRAND NAME IN THEIR SHORT DESCRIPTION. PYREX DOESN'T CRACK EVEN AFTER 3, 4, AND 5 TIMES OF EXTREME HEAT! AMAZON'S CHOICE SAYS YOU FORGOTTEN? I KNOW NOW!.
My fiance has recently taken up glass blowing as a new hobby, creating everything from flowers to miniature animals to recreational items for friends. Purchasing glass rods from smoke shops and other novelty stores in our area is prohibitively expensive, not to mention the size of the tubing, which is excessive and dangerous to transport from the store to home without breaking anything. I believe he preferred smaller tubes like these because they were easier to manipulate. The glass was thick enough to prevent it from becoming thin and brittle after prolonged heat exposure, but not so thick that it couldn't be shaped and manipulated into beautiful designs.
Quickly heat up and cool down, and bend without braking.
Excellent work. These are some seriously thick ass tubes. Don't be like me, who is a rook and a b. Working these into a usable shape takes about an hour. Of course, if you're like me and use the cheapest tip and map gas you can find, that is. In any case, I'm satisfied and will purchase again!.
Right now, there aren't many positive things to say about this product. It was the correct product in the correct quantity. Delivery was on time. However. This was not at all up to my expectations in terms of quality. br>There was some damage to the product when it was delivered. I believe it is due to the cutting. Near the cut zone, it appeared to be a stress fracture. And, despite being rounded and polished, one end appeared to be mechanically cut, while the other appeared to be less so. On one end, the cut was even and straight. The other wasn't, but he did have some chips on him. br>After a few heatings, the glass also fractured, appearing to be a little more brittle than it should be. br>I'd like to give them another chance, but I'm not interested in dealing with the return policy. To summarize, if you require glass for practice, this could be an excellent option.
