So far, these are the best glass plates I've come across. They're of good quality, and, unlike cheaper plates, the size difference between the bottom and lid is just right, making them easier to handle during sterile work. I've purchased less expensive plates with a significant lid difference. Because of their smaller size, they are more difficult to handle and use. If you have the extra cash, these are well worth it.
These plates are bulletproof and can withstand sterilization by baking. At $95 per dozen, they're not cheap. At around $140, it appears to be a good time to buy. Even so, this is a far superior plating solution to the vile polystyrene plates that are used once and then discarded. Despite the price increase, these borosilicate plates will eventually pay for themselves because they are easier to use and more durable than Corning's soda lime glass plates. These would win out over the soda lime glass if the prices were comparable. The packaging is incredibly flimsy: plates and covers rattle around in cardboard dividers, but unlike the competitors' cheap glass plates, these arrive undamaged! In contrast to the mirror-finish plates, these plates have ripples. Because smooth Corning plates are not ideal for use under a binocular microscope, they may not be the best option.
In the future, I'd like to purchase more, but only if the old pricing is reinstated. Overall, this is a fantastic product that can withstand boiling temperatures and hold a large amount of product.
These Petri dishes are the Maserati of Petri dishes. one of the best glass dishes available They aren't cheap, but if you can afford them, they are well worth the money.
They are the finest glass dishes available. The only issue is that they have been shipped with little to no padding thus far, resulting in 2-dimensional damage. Each time there are three breakages, they will refund the money, but it is preferable to have a full box. There will be a need for bubble wrap or foam peanuts.
These are excellent petri dishes, but the McMaster Carr 100mm Kimax ones are significantly heavier, fit better, and are similarly priced.
Packaging and products are excellent.
There's not much else to say except that they're well-made, well-packaged, and you should buy a can to sterilize them in.
