You'd be better off investing a few extra dollars in a higher-quality

It is a waste of time. I'm unable to use it as a filter. It's a two-piece unit with the seam running right through the filter plate, so it can also be used as a funnel. You'd be better off investing a few extra dollars in a higher-quality unit. br>br>However, I was attempting to use a coffee filter in a vacuum filter setup, so perhaps my filtering technique is flawed.

It's being used to make maple syrup

The maple syrup we make from our trees needs to be filtered. This funnel is made to be used with filter paper and allows liquid to pass through the entire surface. I'd been looking for one of these for a long time and am glad I finally found one. I'm only using it with coffee filters that have been cut into circles, but it worked fine.

If you buy this, you will be able to. The description of the item is deceptive. You'll need filter paper with a diameter of at least 70mm if you buy this. Even 6 cm filter paper cannot cover the inner diameter of the unit I received, which is around 74mm. While it technically works, if you buy filter paper based on the description, you'll be disappointed and either need to buy more filter paper or a new Buchner funnel.
