There is no way to do that. This machine is designed for high speed buffers.

What kind of hardwood floor sander pads should I use?

The extent of the work you need to do on the floor depends on what you need to accomplish

Is this a foam pad or a polyurethane pad?

White pads are used most of the time to buff floors. They are generally used for general purpose buffing. I'm not sure of the name but let me know if you need it
