There isn't anything like that. I had an old one that I slid off, cleaned, and replaced with this one.
If you mean it's in the open position, you can release the tab by pressing down a little on the handle.

This style of dustpan has been around for a long time, but the cost has always been a concern - I wasn't about to pay $30 for a stick of duspan. br>br>I had a Dollar Tree folding dustpan on a stick for years, but it finally broke to the point where I couldn't repair it. So I went to Amazon to look for a replacement. br>br> I thought I'd be able to find a lobby dustpan for less than $20. This one was $6 when I found it. 90 prime, and I bought it right away to make sure the price wasn't an error. br>br>You wouldn't expect much from a $7 dustpan. You'd be mistaken. This dustpan is built to last. To add strength, the handle is oblong rather than round. The only drawback is that if the handle becomes damaged in any way, you won't be able to simply replace it with an old broom handle. br>br>There is a learning curve here - Many users are unaware that the dustpan must be flipped up by pressing down on the handle. Alternatively, you could break the small tab that holds the dust pan at a perpendicular 90* angle to avoid having to worry about it. br>br>This dustpan comes highly recommended, especially at the prime price of $7. Just in case, I'm thinking about getting a few more.
WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR 90 DOLLARS? A SECOND ONE IS ON THE WAY TO KEEP UPSTAIRS. PROS: Sweeping into a lightweight, LARGE receptacle; I didn't expect it to be as big as it was. My broom can easily fit through the opening in the receptacle. It appears that no residue is left on the floor. The handle has a recess in it so it can be hung. It appears to be well-made, but I have no way of knowing how long it will last because I only received it today. After sweeping, there is no longer any need to stoop. YIPPEEE! br>br>I prefer sweeping to vacuuming, and this works out perfectly for me. Now that I have this handy new tool, I expect to be sweeping more and vacuuming much less. CONS: br>br> As others have mentioned, being able to swing the receptacle portion completely vertical for hanging would be fantastic. I also agree that the handle could be a little longer. I'm 5'8" and don't have to lean to use it, but it just FEELS like it should be 2' longer. However, it was a simple process to use it. It could simply be a case of getting used to it and forgetting about the handle's length. Overall: br>br> Because of the issues I mentioned in the Cons, I gave it four stars. Taking price into account, it should most likely be a 5. Please hold your horses while I switch to number five. there. Done. Buy it. br>br> You'll be glad you did. Cut or tear the plastic at the bottom of the package and slide it up the handle to unwrap it. Trim the wrapping at the top with scissors. You'll see what I mean. I am a 70-year-old woman who suffers from back pain. Using a traditional dust pan is extremely difficult for me. This dustpan is great because it stands up. It does not fall over and remains upright. Love it.
After all, it's just a dustpan, so I gave it a two-star rating. But it's a dustpan, and it's big, clumsy, and hideously ugly. Furthermore, the latch that is supposed to release the pan so that it can be dumped will not release. It's simple to put together, and it sits properly on the ground so that nothing gets pushed underneath it as you sweep. In the future, I will purchase again!
