The threading can be a little hard to start, but it fits my standard thread with a little effort and the handle is great.
One of the better handles made by Carlisle is this one, which has a metal threaded part. No chance of breaking.

The only one available and sold by Amazon was the one I paid more for. I noticed (yes, I know) that it appeared to be of higher quality in the picture, with the metal head flush with the handle and a smooth finish. My handle, however, has a rough finish and the metal head has been crushed into the wood. There is also a taper on the handle to the aluminum tip, so you don't get the full strength from This was one of those times that I was overcharged, but I don't usually get overcharged.
It was purchased so that I could try it as a spear shaft for a threaded spear head (SOG) I CRAP is the only way I can describe it It looks like I have shaved the end down before the metal ( it's not flush with the edge) but it's not like the picture. In addition to warping and bending, the shaft is also bent. There are damage to the threads, due to which it will only thread partially. If I can get the thread to thread in at all, I might be able to use this as a broom handle for sweeping the sidewalk. Basically, it is a warped stick that cannot be used for the purpose for which I bought it. A warped piece of junk is what you need When it comes to a stick, this does.
Using this broom handle to squeegee snow from the deck, I am not afraid of bending it. As a result of the heavy snow and wet ground, the old broom handle with a plastic tip broke because of the amount of stress it endured. I find that this broom handle works better for heavy duty work than the others The tip does not flex at all, and it feels very solid in the hand. In its (without squeegee) plain form, the broom handle weighs about 1 pound. There are 34 pounds in the bag. A crimp has been made on the metal tip of the handle, which ensures it fits very tightly. This was a gift I received in the middle of winter and have used throughout several snow storms since then. I am very happy with what I have seen so far.
Review of Ali Julia.
It's just not what is pictured, and I do not hate it. There is a 3/4" thread on the handle, and I needed it to be 1 1/8" long. Zooming in on the tip, you can see that the handle is not tapered, so the diameter of the thread is closer to 3/4" than to 1/2". There was a taper on the end and 1/4 inch of the tip was at the end. For me, it's not a good fit. I even called the Carlisle chat line, but they couldn't even figure out what the thread was. It turns out that online shopping isn't for everyone.
In any case, you will lose the mop if you do that, because it will need to be nailed to the mop head A rag can be held in place on the head by the functionality of the head.
Considering it is only a broom stick, I am truly amazed by how well it is finished for the price.
As a practical point, I appreciated that the threaded portion was longer than a handle of this type usually is. Because it will thread deeper into brushes than the other handles I have, I like it.
A threaded stick is the item. There is only one problem I've seen so far - the metal reinforcement by the threads at the end of the last 2" are not finished. The entire length is finished now with a quick spray of Polyurethane lacquer. After a little sanding and a few sprays it is completed. This has taken me aback that Amazon can sell this on its own in a huge box and still make anything off of.
