Henkel BORAXO Powdered Hand Soap,12 oz (Pack of 12)

Working in a work boot store is one of my favorite things to do. We provide free boot repairs as a courtesy to our customers. After hand-stitching a particularly filthy boot, I discovered, to my horror, that we had run out of the Goop hand cleaner we were using at the time, which sent me into a panic because regular hand soap is inadequate for cleaning the type of grime that can cover a pair of work boots. I discovered an ancient can of a powdered soap I had never heard of after frantically searching for something to clean my hands. It appeared to be around twenty years old, but it still cleaned my hands admirably. I ordered a case of soap as soon as I returned home. br>br>What I like about it:br>br>It cleans just about everything well. Borax is abrasive enough to be a good cleaner on its own. When you add the powdered soap, you've got a near-miracle product that I use to clean my hands on a regular basis. After reading some of the other reviews, I've decided to use it as a face soap on a daily basis. My girlfriend has hyperhidrosis (a fancy term for excessive sweating) and claims that Boraxo is the best product she's ever used to get the stink out of her armpits. I've used you to clean stuck-on food from dishes and even stray paint from the floor away from the body. What I don't like about it:br>br>The abrasiveness that makes it a good cleaner is a double-edged sword. It's a double-edged sword because the soap is rough enough to be painful on cold days when my skin is extremely dry. I don't believe it's because of the soap; I'm to blame because I didn't use enough lotion. If you have extremely dry skin and don't moisturize, this is something to consider.

This amazing old hand cleaner can be used for so many things that it's hard to believe that something so basic can be so useful. Of course, it cleans greasy hands, wrists, and forearms, but it also cleans dirty knees, legs, and feet. br>br>After slicing up a bunch of hot peppers, I like to use it to clean my hands. I wet my hands, shake a small amount of Boraxo into one palm, and rub the wet Boraxo over the entire skin, under the nails, around the nail beds, and up the wrists for at least 30 seconds before rinsing and sniffing. If I still get a whiff of hot pepper, I repeat the process. It's worked in the past. Other aromatic vegetables can be used as well. It will also remove some stains from cotton clothing as well as paint from my hands. br>br> br>br>However, don't smell the Boraxo when you first wet it, as it will release a faint ammonia-like odor that may cause you to sneeze. br>br>I've been using Boraxo for 65 years, but I've also used Lava and GoJo, as well as FastOrange and other hand cleaners. Boraxo is still my favorite, but I've learned to use it wisely. Most people use three or four times the recommended amount of Boraxo and then have to rinse for an excessive amount of time.

My husband works in the plumbing and heating/air conditioning industry, and his hands are always stained and filthy, even when they are clean. They are true working hands, which I admire because they demonstrate how hard he works for his daughters, but when we go somewhere nice, he wants his hands to look clean, and regular soap won't suffice. This powdered hand soap does a good job of cleaning your hands. It also exfoliates and removes dry skin because it is a powder. This is available in 12 oz. bottles. You can buy it in a large box or in containers. The box is less expensive, but because of its size and lack of a pouring mechanism, it cannot be used for hand washing. I wish they'd put it in a refillable container because these small containers don't last very long, especially at work where all of our guys use it.

Boraxo has been a part of my life since I was a small child. Because my father worked with steel, he always had black hands when he got home, but this stuff kept him clean. It was always my favorite because it made me feel like it was scratching my itchy hands while I was cleaning. When I was crafting, it was the only thing that could remove the pain and glue from my hands. I had forgotten about this soap for years because I had moved to a small town where it was not available. After getting married to a mechanic, I rediscovered the Boraxo at a store and was so excited that I bought some for him. Of course, he fell in love with it, and we ended up giving it to his family, who also work on cars. We ran out after giving so much away and couldn't find it anywhere near us, so I was overjoyed to discover it in such large quantities on Amazon. We can now keep the majority of them and give away the rest as gifts.

Because one can was 5 oz, the first box I got had weighing errors. light, and 5 more cans were underweight in various ways. This order's weights were much more evenly distributed. br>br>For almost 60 years, I've been using Boraxo Powdered Hand Soap on and off. My hands have never failed to be clean. Much better than lava products that have been ground up.

I'm a 73-year-old man who has used Boraxo since I was old enough to wash my hands on my own as a toddler. When I was still working, I would wash my hands with the soap provided by the company at the end of each shift, drive home, and immediately wash my hands with Boraxo. Boraxo should be used if you want clean hands that are truly clean. Hands down, this is the best hand soap ever devised!.

And I've never found another hand soap that cleans dirty hands as well as this one does after a simple wash. It's fantastic after a long day in the garden or yard. And it works much better than regular hand soap at removing the majority of the Capsaicin from my hands after cutting up hot peppers.
