Questions & Answers

Has anyone ever had good results spraying the floor with a safe cleaner or adding something to the mop receptacle?

Any additions to the reservoir will void the warranty and may reduce the unit's lifespan, so proceed at your own risk. Before steaming, I use a spray bottle filled with a diluted white vinegar mixture to spray stubborn spots. Some commercial cleaners may be suitable for this purpose, but I'd be wary of inhaling the steamy fumes that would result. br>Plus, I don't think it's really necessary. The steam alone does a fantastic job in most cases.

What are the measurements for these?

Because of the rounder corners, it's difficult to measure exactly, but it's about 10'x10"x12". My wife likes the replacements because they fit the steamer. She considers this steamer to be superior to all others she has used.

Fits the SKG steam mop with this pad?

I purchased a small o cedar steam mop with a velcro type bottom (similar to a swifter dry mop) that these fit up against and hold in place. The SKG steam mop is something I don't have. I believe the pads for the SKG steam mop wrap completely around and over the sides to the top of the mop part, so I'm not sure it has the same type of bottom designed to hold these types of pads in place, based on the picture.

Is it possible to replace the steam solution with Mr. Clean?

I'm not sure. I'd read the instructions for the steam mop. Only the replacement pads are included in this set.

O- pad replacements are ideal
5/5

Steam mop made of cedar wood! The pads for the O-ring are the correct ones. Amazon has a Cedar Microfiber Steam Mop for sale. (As far as I can tell, they're the same as the two that come with the mop purchase;) little loops over the cleaning surface reach nicely into grout and any texture on your vinyl floors, giving it a plush feel. They're the perfect size for the steam mop head, and they're simple to put on and take off. They can be machine washed or hand washed. If you do decide to throw them in the washer, keep in mind that microfiber should only be washed with other microfiber cloths; otherwise, it will pick up lint from your other clothes. You can't use fabric softener because it will reduce the ability of the pad to pick up dirt and grime. These pads are white at first, but they'll almost always be stained after you've used them. These, on the other hand, wash up quickly in the sink with just a little dish soap, rinse clean easily, and air dry overnight. I'm overjoyed that these are now available! br>br>Edited on September 9, 2016: I wish they came in different colors or had some other means of distinguishing them from one another. Without getting too gross, I'd like a simple way to distinguish the pads I use in the kitchen from those I use in the laundry room (litter box area). Yes, I understand that the steam from the washer should clean them all equally, but I feel better knowing that I've kept them apart. For the time being, I'm using a Sharpie pen to add some detail to the label. br>br>Plus, as I previously stated, white gets dirty very quickly. br>br>I still adore the mop, and I believe I'll be ordering another pack of replacement pads soon. Most likely the best investment I made in 2015!.

different level of quality I haven't used them yet, but they aren't the same as the mop's pad
3/5

br>They're a lot thinner, and the backing is visible. When you use them, I'm wondering if they'll bunch up. br>After I've used them, I'll update. br>br>I'm updating after using one this morning to go over the wood floor in my kitchen. br>When I was finished, the pad revealed very little dirt. I then went over the same area again with one of the original pads that came with my mop, and it was filthy by the time I finished. I really like this mop and think it cleans well with the original pad (see picture). These pads, on the other hand, are useless.

easy to use; It appears to be effective
4/5

There are two minor changes that could be made. It's straightforward and effective. However, being able to see the water level would be extremely beneficial. I have no way of knowing whether or not it is about to run out of water. It could also benefit from a stand to keep it off the floor while it cools down (leaving it on the wood floor leaves stains). I also discovered that I needed to order a few more mop heads to ensure that I had enough between launderings. I need at least six more than the two that came with it. Overall, I give it a high rating in terms of ease of use. I could have used an extra 2' on the cord. br>br>Note that it removes the wax from wood floors. br>br> As a result, the floors appear to be worse than when they were dirtier but still had the old wax on them. So now I've got a new job, rewaxing the floors. Even so, it's nice to be able to disinfect and clean without using chemicals.

It would be nice if it had a pause button, but it is a good purchase overall
4/5

After my previous steam mop broke, I tried a Swiffer and discovered it didn't clean my floors as well as this one did, so I bought it. My floors get filthy quickly because I have two dogs and two cats who come and go. This mop cleans them quite well. Dirt and spots that are visible rise to the surface. I like that the mop is an upright and that it can be used in less than a minute after turning it on. The mop pads are adequate and appear to hold up well, but I believe they could be improved to make the floor cleaner. It's great that it cleans without using chemicals. The cord is probably about 16 feet long and could be a little longer, but the most significant flaw is that there is no button other than the on/off button. I use this on laminate floors, so I wish there was a way to turn off the steam without turning the unit off so I could move furniture, etc. I also don't like to leave it sitting in one place, even on vinyl, because I've heard that too much heat can damage the vinyl glue. Overall, it's a good buy that works well on laminate, vinyl, and tile.

It's suitable for use on both tile and wood
5/5

It really works. This does an excellent job for the money. Because of my asthma, I couldn't have anything that sprayed chemicals on my floors. I purchased a few extra cleaning cloths and used about four to cover approximately 2500 square feet of flooring. I vacuum first, then steam at "max" for a few minutes, refill the water, and change the mop rag three or four times. Surprisingly good results are achieved with wood. Cleaning is even more enjoyable now that we have pets. I previously owned a Bissell mop and floor scrubber for which I paid significantly more but received no better results.

The mop heads that come with the mop are not the same size as these
3/5

The refills for this mop are smaller than the ones that came with it. They barely cover the mop head, and the carpet attachment is too small. The carpet attachment worked fine when I used the mop heads that came with it, but when I used the refill mop heads, the carpet attachment kept falling off the mop. On top of the mop cover that came with it, I included photos of the refill mop covers. The refill mop cover is clearly smaller, as can be seen.

IT'S TIME TO GET BACK TO STEAMING! The steam mop pads worked exceptionally well
5/5

The mop pad can be washed, but it will eventually need to be replaced. The new refill arrived quickly, was a perfect fit for the mop, and cleaned the floor thoroughly!.

Suitable for use on floors - But they're ineffective because they'll never be clean again once you've used them
3/5

One is used, soaked, and then washed. It's almost as filthy as it was before it was washed. They're also so soft that I think I'd prefer something with a little more texture for my tile floors. I frequently have to repeat a simple task - as if a smidgeon of coffee has been added - before the truth is revealed.
