The Static Sentry isn't a long-lasting coating or product. Static charges will be reduced to zero volts by the residue. Rubber is insulative, so charges build up if your soles are made of it. Static Sentry may be able to remove a charge, but because dirt is an insulator, it may not be effective for long. If this is a dust collector for woodworking, for example, and there is a lot of dust being sucked through the tube, the product may not be as effective as it would be with natural air-flow. Because it's covered in debris, it's causing dust to fly. In that case, I'd apply it to the tube's outside to help reduce charges that could spark. br>br>The only other thing to consider is that the solvent emits an odor. If you use it in a well-designed environment, it will be more effective. You should be fine if you keep it in a well-ventilated area. The odor dissipates once the product has dried (which takes only a few minutes).
