I did not like the scraper idea, but it worked and I used it regularly and cleaned it well. Although not the best tool, it is still worth looking into. I recently saw an advertisement for a product similar to this, but with more typical whisk broom type bristles, and even though I LOVE the idea, I didn't like how dirty the bristles would be after several I read some reviews for it and one person mentioned that OXO had all silicone squeegees. As it can be washed in the dishwasher, it is perfect! Yesterday I received it and already amazed at how much I am saving on paper towels. The only negative is that it is a bit of a drag (speed bump effect!) when you brush crumbs or wet food into the sink (shredded lettuce is a good example). I am very pleased with the machine and am saving a great deal of paper towel.
