Through the use of these pads and a YouTube video, I was able to repair some unsightly scratches on the slide of my Colt Commander pistol in such a way it is impossible to tell what ever caused them. I have since used this material to remove scratches from a number of well-known products The firearms used were stainless steel and only light pressure was applied. Is exactly the right grit to match the factory finish of stainless steel that is brushed, not polished. Be cautious and take your time.

I'm pretty sure this is one of the best investments I have ever made. It is only a problem that there is quite a lot of product in the box and I will not able to.

They have a great amount of durability. A gentle buffing of the burner edges on my stainless steel gas range worked well with these polishing pads. When it comes to my range, I am extremely particular about it being scratch-free In addition to not using any scrubbing pads on most of my range, these ultra-fine cleaning pads can be used on any other area of my range By using fine pads, we were able to quickly eliminate all those black spots and burnt-on spots The spots will build up over time and, even with products such as Bon Ami, will be hard to remove. The pads do not have the odd, offensive chemical smell of other scrubbing pads. I also cut them up and use them as inserts in reptile feeders like Fluker's 16 oz Repta Waterers so the crickets I breed will not drown. This is a great product!.

Using Ultra fine grade pads gives you the look of a brushed finish. When I put them on aluminum tubing that I turn on a lathe, the brushed finish appears in a few minutes. They polish the aluminum to a polished chrome finish and are the finest grade available Although they look like like-new metal, if you are starting with slightly scratched metal, these tools will remove the small scratches faster.

This product worked well to refinish a fiberglass cap on my travel trailer Policoat was used as the final finish to get rid of all oxidation the finished product looked like a mirror.

To fix some flaking clear coat problems on an older motorhome, I bought these pads in order to prevent the fiberglass underneath from getting scratched. They seem to be working well. Although I wasn't sure whether it would work or not, my decision had nothing to do with 3M's intended use for the product. I found it satisfactory to use for my needs.

Scotch pads of all grades are frequently used by me, and I usually purchase a box by the contractor at biggest box stores in my area. No store near me carries any of the products in ANY quantity, regardless of whether or not they are for business reasons. Thanks to Amazon, we have everything we need. The best thing I could have hoped for. As part of their retail packaging, 3M used to sell small 5 inch foam pads half the size of the big ones. The size of the print is 5" by For use, I cut it in half (see picture). There was no longer any sign of The steel wool I prefer for finishing and refinishing is fine finish. Whenever I have finished turning a wood block, I use them as my final step.

The fact that they are ultra fine doesn't mean that they don't work. The vent on my stainless steel cabinet has been brushed with one. While it improved it, I wouldn't recommend using it on a refrigerator or similar appliance because it may make undesired patterns if you are not.
