It weighs about 3 or 4 pounds when empty. The product is lightweight, yet very durable at the same time. A very good quality set of casters is used. Pushing against air is similar to pushing against a wall.

The ccap you mention does not seem familiar to me. It was easy to assemble exactly as shown in the picture. The top shelf was a piece of cake to install. It would be better if I took the cap off. Ours is not a heavy duty unit, but it does the trick when we need it. We were unable to push it because it came loose.

I own and operate a commercial janitorial service and had never seen this type of cart before but was intrigued by the significant price discount over the Rubbermaid we use now. As soon as we realized this was not suitable for commercial cleaning, we stopped using it. Our trash carts come with a trash receptacle that is latch-down and can store plastic bags in one piece. As there is no trash bag insertion mechanism, the garbage must go straight into the cart bag, which is not ideal for coffee cups, drinks, etc. It lacks several features offered by the Rubbermaid cart, including the ability to securely store brooms and mop handles. Nevertheless, after prolonged use the cart becomes flimsy and you have to keep pushing parts together to keep it Although this cart is useful for home use, it shouldn't be used for commercial purposes. To replace this unit, I am ordering a Rubbermaid unit as well as finding another use for it.
