That's never happened to me before, and regular toilet bowl cleaners didn't even help to reduce the stains, let alone remove them. This product was discovered as one of several options after a Google search. I didn't follow the directions on the bottle and instead used a method I found online: I drained the toilet bowl of water (turned off the water to the toilet, flushed, then removed the remaining water with a plastic cup (I didn't have a turkey baster, as some sites suggested), then soaked up the rest with a towel). I soaked an old washcloth in cleaner and placed it in the bottom of the toilet, then let it sit for a few hours. I'll admit, I was skeptical, but when I turned on the water, removed the washcloth, brushed with my regular toilet brush, and flushed, the brown stains were completely gone! Wow! I'm blown away, and I'm grateful to the previous reviewers who persuaded me that this product was worthwhile.
I tried everything, but it just didn't look right. Everything, I mean! I took the majority of the water out of the toilet and let it sit for about two hours as a last resort. It now looks brand new with just a little scrubbing! I no longer have to try to persuade people that my toilet is in fact clean. I wish I had taken before photos because what this stuff did was incredible. This is something I would strongly recommend!.
I don't believe anyone can give a toilet bowl cleaner five stars because of its scent. But I'll give it five stars for everything else because this stuff is well worth the money. One of my toilets in my house had scum at the bottom that only a pumice stone could remove. But, really, who wants to keep scrubbing their hand in the toilet all the time? I poured this stuff in there, waited an hour, and voila! It appears that this toilet is brand new!.
The toilet appears to be the ideal environment for manganese to oxidize, resulting in dark gray, trickle-like deposits. the bowl's sides have stains on them Bleach, pinesol, magic eraser, vinegar with baking soda, ammonia, and scrubbing bubbles were all tried and found to be ineffective. I bought a new toilet because nothing worked and I assumed it was permanently etched. Within a week, the new one had become stained. Only the acidic cleaner Zep has been proven to be effective. I don't know what to say. I walked into the bathroom after an hour of Zep on the stains, and my white toilet bowl was back! The rest was taken care of with a little brushing, and I now use it once a week to keep up with the mineral/chemical reaction. So far, everything has gone well!.
On our calcium-laden commode, it works better than lime, calcium, and rust remover products. It must be used on a weekly basis, but it does not require hours of sitting time to remove scale. I only used a few drops, let it sit for a few minutes, and then swiped away the bottom stain. I wouldn't use it every day because it's acidic, and I'm worried it'll degrade the coating over time. br>For really stubborn stains that other products couldn't get rid of, let it sit for 20 minutes and scrub away. After that, simply stay on top of those issues. We let the calcium-laden faucet handles, screws, and base sit for a while while fixing faucets in the bathroom, and they came out looking brand new. br>I tried it on a tub in desperate need of reglazing, but it didn't work; only reglazing will fix it. br>Tried it on some old stubborn stains on bath tile and it worked great, but I'm afraid it'll eat through the glaze if used frequently because it's so acidic. br>Great product.
I had exhausted all possibilities; solutions created at home- baking soda with vinegar a scraper made of hard plastic (which broke). I couldn't get this stuff out of my head, and I was worried about losing my security deposit when I moved out. br>br>At first, I tried squirting the cleaner into the bowl and leaving it overnight to see what would happen, but nothing happened. br>The issue was that the water in the bowl made everything diluted. br>br>This weekend, I set aside some time to empty the bowl of all water. It wasn't the most enjoyable task, but using a cup, towel, and some good rubber gloves, I made sure there was no water in the bottom of the bowl. br>br>Squirted the cleaner into the bottom of the bowl, covering the brown scale completely. It was probably about a cup of the product, though it could have been less because I didn't measure it. I taped the led shut and warned everyone to stay away from that toilet. Allow for a 3-hour rest period. When I returned after 4 hours, I scrubbed vigorously with a standard toilet brush. I noticed a difference in the feel of the bowl; there were no coarse, rough edges, and everything was very smooth. Because the color was a thick blue/green/brown, I couldn't see to the bottom. I flushed the toilet after closing the lid. There was no scale, discoloration, or marks on the toilet when I opened the lid; it was completely clean. To tell you the truth, it was well worth the money. br>br>I only wish I had taken before and after photos because this stuff really works!.
I live on a farm with a well for drinking water. (Red clay is a type of clay that comes in a variety of colors. iron content is high). We have a sophisticated whole-house alarm system, but I was still getting stains in the toilet that no amount of cleaning products had been able to remove. YES, THIS IS THE ONE. I placed an order for one bottle for each toilet!.
It appears to be offensive! I tried a variety of toilet bowl cleaners, but none of them worked. Even the pumice stones, which I purchased for heavy build up, didn't completely remove it. The next week, I used this ZEP cleaner and it completely removed it! I couldn't believe my eyes. I poured it into the bowl (all the way around the rim), then let it sit for about an hour before scrubbing it with a regular toilet brush. I let it sit for another hour (this is how I normally clean toilets) before flushing it and finding it spotless! I wish I had taken a photo of the before and after! From now on, this will be the only toilet bowl cleaner I use! I'd give it a higher rating if I could! If you're looking for a unique way to.
