In a nutshell, This particular discharge hose is rated at 150 PSI, and I purchased three of them. One of the hoses leaked at the end where it connects to the metal fitting. The other leaked at the end where it connected to the metal fitting. There was a leak and I had to secure it with hose clamps. The PVC coating is now leaking between the liner and the hose after the second use (please refer to my video for an explanation). It was within the first three feet of the end that both leaks occurred. In use, I have always chilled the hoses at 60 PSI (at 150 PSI). I irrigated grass with them on sandy loam soil and well below their recommended pressures.
It is not clear why they cannot put better clamps on it. My manufacturing band clamps were hose clamped to a 2" hose clamp, and I dried everything My trash pump is used to run roof sprinklers to suppress wildfires. This tends to cause it to stretch out a bit if run isn't I would say the value for money is good. If I had not seen leaks in the clamps, I would have given 5 stars!.
When you consider the fittings and the quality of this hose, it is of high quality and an excellent price. There is more strength to this blue hose than to my other "heavy duty" I would advise anyone considering the non heavy duty (once there were no reinforcements with fiber) to not get it. If you plan to use them around rocks or sticks, these are pretty much one-time use hoses.
The irrigation systems on the farm are designed to accommodate 2 inch hoses. The price per foot is the highest of any hose I have ever owned, but the quality is by far the best. There was no comparison of price, but it was worth the difference. It can take the walk of my cattle and my horses on the dry hose without being damaged.
These types of clamps don't seal the hose because they're not designed for that purpose. Crimps cause it to leak where they are As of now, the hose seems fine, but I had to cut off the clamps and replace them with screw-type clamps for it There has either never been a pressurization test for them to see if they leak, or they are brain dead.
I bought 3 of these hoses, all of which leak around the hose clamps when pressure is at or above 14 psi. It doesn't matter if the hose material itself is rated for 150 PSI, the clamp quality around the connector barb is worthless. It will be redone as soon as possible.
It appears that the leather used in the shoe is of good quality. As far as I know, it is heavier than most collapsible hoses. The female end leaks at the clamp, and that is the only issue I have experienced so far. With a few minutes of use, it can cause a mud puddle on the ground. There are two options for me I can use a hose clamp or take it to a hose shop and have it reclamped.
The hose is wrinkled where the manufacturer clamped it, causing it to leak at Therefore, I needed to purchase better clamps so I wouldn't have a mud hole around the middle of my arena when I was watering. It is because of this that I gave the value for money a low rating. It is a work out for the consumer to move this hose with water inside, and it requires strength.
