I used this heavy-duty hose to drain water from my swimming pool. The paper in this package is of a high quality, unlike the cheap stuff. It is thin and one-sided A season discharge hose is usually sold for swimming pools in residential settings. sturdy connector (similar to fire hoses), and it may require some adapters to be connected to the pool's pvc discharge pipe. The hardware store may offer fittings or have the ability to make them. As this is not a lightweight hose, handling the weight of the hose may not be as appealing to everyone Product for female consumers that is light in weight. It is possible that you will never blow another hose again. The following changes were made to the May 18, 2018 update The extra 50 feet of hose I needed to discharge pool water in the street was not enough. When additional lengths of hose are needed, they can be easily connected using the connectors. Furthermore, using two 50' lengths is a bit more convenient than using a single 100'.
This is not what you see in the picture. After taking this hose for a spin, I decided to give it a shot. That was a nice surprise. I pushed up the pressure on my high pressure Honda pump and it didn't leak. I left the cap on for at least 10 minutes and there was no leak. The kinks are easy to work out. Hoses of this type are generally lightweight. I would recommend that product. I have a need to use it for open end discharge instead of This is only a 3 star rating due to a misleading picture and description.
I was not provided with the hose shown in the picture. quality and workmanship of the product I received are very poor. Other people have said that they came off within minutes, and I can understand why. The sleeves over the hose aren't even crimped, just steel. I have no way of tightening.
In my case, I needed a pool back washing solution because my pump/filter is located close to my neighbor's property line, and he didn't like the additional water. It works great with this hose kit. Two of the 50' hoses were purchased and I joined them with the poly cam locks, then cut off the end of one of the hoses and band clamped it to the rigid PVC that comes off of the backwash pipe. The best part of this hose is that it is heavy-duty enough to stay put when I kick on the pump while the water flows, which can't be said regarding those cheap, thin hoses found at most pool stores. In addition, all I need to do is remove the band clamp and the whole setup comes off. This hose has an industrial smell, as previously mentioned by others, but I think that will fade over time. I’d highly recommend it to those who are looking for a hose of this kind.
I have not had any problems connecting it to the sump pump I bought with it, as the connections are good. Moreover, the hose can be stored very easily because it rolls very flat. There is also an issue with the hose buckles easily, so just running it over even ground is not sufficient. Otherwise, the hose kinks quite a bit and prevents the flow of water. We just do not have enough rigidity in the hose. It is also too thin. The same reason that makes hose thin, flat, and easy to kink also causes it to be less durable. When my hose was pulled over a concrete block wall, I had several holes develop. The concrete block wall did not really have sharp edges, but it was rougher than a smooth wall. I just don't understand how a hose can be so thin.
During the snowstorm, I was sitting inside while my son blew snow in the driveway. * * *Updates After a day, we received the package. There is a lack of quality in this product. There was no water pushing through the hose when the pump pressure was high. In order to allow water to pass through the hose, I had to manually force it open and force a garden hose.
In the two days I used it, it worked satisfactorily, but there was one place where it had small pinhole leaks about 3. 5 There is a much higher rating for it than I gave it, but I only had 25 to 30 PSI applied. I found out that there was a factory defect on the exterior vinyl coating. A small area was peeling off in one place, much like a paint job. There was only a small amount of water leaking out through these holes, but they looked like weak spots that might burst, so I requested a new We have picked up the defective hose, and we are on our way to replace it. I had no problem working with Amazon on that front. The connectors look good and the build quality is excellent overall. There is a lack of quality control. I have updated As far as I could see, the replacement hose Amazon sent was not swaged. Once I began operating the pump, the connectors blew off almost immediately. They had to be replaced with standard hose clamps made of stainless steel. I was able to use it later. Despite over eight hours of use, there is no sign of leaks.
This Apache 98138045 2" x 50' blue lay-in tubing is priced at $64. 95 The Aluminum Pin Lug Fittings on the Flat Discharge Hose have proven to stand up to the abuse I give it and help it connect quickly to my other hose. With heavy brass nuts on the aluminum hose nipples, I find this a very attractive design. There's no need to buy plenty of plastic junk out there, it should last for years. I have had no problems with these hoses, which I have connected together to get the length I require. They are not as reinforced as the hoses found on some pumps, and they work fine. I am hard on my stuff, so I had no problems with these. Rolls up for compact storage and is easy to clean.
The box is open. I used it today for the first time and the leak is visible from the area pointed to in the picture. The one defective hose I discovered today occurred during assembly of six of them I purchased. So far there have been three leaks directly out of the box (defective hoses). This hose is of poor quality and I strongly advise you not to buy it.
