It is a high-quality tube. The 14mm would be the perfect choice if I were going to blow a bubble on the end and have it close off so you could smoke out of it or make a thermometer. This would make the od thicker, which would make it more resistant to heat. The glasses are being used for our specs, so we will need to change our temperature. As long as the temperature stays around 250 degrees, we should not have to worry as much about the integrity of the glass. As far as blowing them and using them in that way is concerned, yes, that can be done. As a matter of fact, I tried it today with some we have broken over the months and on the first one I tried it with a can of Coleman's fuel and it failed horribly. It was perfect with the second mapp gas, but it was too hot with the third using a torch with oxygen and acetylene. These will get the job done, however. Take a look

I must call BS on the claim that these are really The brittleness they develop after being exposed to relatively mild heat makes them easy to break. It's hard to say whether they're made out of borosilicate glass or not. They seem to be of low quality if they are. I am not an expert, but I have used real Pyrex (borosilicate made by Corning) and I am certain this isn't It should have been obvious from the price, but oh well.
I can't say enough good things about these tubes! Borosilicate is thick, durable to the touch, and certainly VERY SOON I will order again from this seller because I am very pleased with their service. It was delivered in a clever box that had foam on the bottom and top with cutouts for the tubes that prevented anything from moving within the box during the shipping process! I highly recommend the glass for making utensils for parties. They are great and of top quality.

Highly recommended. It used to be that I would buy the 8" version but I have only been buying these since I found them. These items have already been delivered three times to me Reordering more is planned for a very short time. When you purchase them for the same price, you get ten of these in 12in" size, while other sellers give you only five in 8in". According to my personal opinion, this is a better option than other sellers using pirex.
