This material is food grade and very strong. The order was delivered Efforts were made to prevent contamination by sealing the ends. It came with some hose clamps that were made from an unknown metal and did not seem to be particularly attractive. As a consequence, I used SS clamps of known quality instead of clamps. During routing in confined spaces, the cable was very pliable and did not kink. Since it has only been installed for a few days, I have no idea how durable it will be.
The material used in big box stores isn't as durable or heavy duty as what you see at the hardware However, it could also be that it is not rated as BPA free or food-grade. My knowledge of the subject is limited. It was used for a sump pump and I would have preferred to have the more rugged type that does not have such a soft feel to it.
