To use a G tube, you need one
In my 85MHP17, I use the #2 replacement tube.
There is no need for lube on this tube and I've never heard of any lube being required for it.

There is an approximate four-year life expectancy for these. As I mentioned before, I just replace them at the three year mark before they leak.
