Only a tube/thread with an OD of 1/2" will fit in these caps. These can be stretched by a fraction of an inch without tearing. Please make sure that the OD (Outside Diameter) of the pipe or screw you're using matches the ID 1/2" of the plug listed. These caps have a 1/2" inside diameter and can be used with screws or pipes that have a 1/2" out side diameter.

Is this going to fit over a 9/16 hex bolt's head?

That would depend on the hex bolt's outer diameter, which could be almost anything; however, I'm going to assume no because if the hex key is 9/16th, the bolt's wall, which engauges the hex size 9/16th, will be slightly larger. Edge to edge, measure the diameter of the bolt. br>br>Because this is vinyl, it's possible that the end cap will stretch around your bolt if heated, but I can't guarantee it.

How long is the end cap (in height)?

Is it possible to use this to close off the dishwasher's drain pipe inlet?

No way in the long run. These are thin-walled vinyl caps, which could be punctured with a worm drive hose clamp or something similar?

As garden fence stakes, they are a perfect fit on 1/2" rebar

My 1/2" diameter rebar in the garden has never looked so good. They're a tight fit because they're 1" deep, which is ideal; however, they're difficult to remove without pliers. Sharp edges are protected from jumping puppies, children, and hands with this product.
