They fit *inside* the 1/2 conduit pipe I purchased for a DIY project, rather than on top of it, as I had hoped. So, if you're buying it for this purpose, keep in mind that it'll run small. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to stretch it over the pipe's end or something, but it's not going to work for my needs. I'm confident I'll put it to good use. If I'm being completely honest, it also appears to be a lot of money for a handful of these little rubbery things.
A 1/2" bolt end is not compatible with these. Before placing our order, we took measurements of the bolt. They are very easy to put on and take off. We fastened them to bolts in our truck's bed racks, and after 1. They'd all vanished in 5 hours. Maybe they'll work for you if you don't need them to fit snugly.
The inside of these 1/2" caps is indeed 1/2", but they don't stretch much. This means they'll only work on items that fit into a very specific size range. These will work fine if the item you're covering has an OD a few mils thicker than 1/2", but they won't work if it doesn't. The material's finish and quality, on the other hand, are excellent. They seem to be in good condition. I believe they are well-made and will last a long time.
On the rebar stakes I bought to use as a rope barrier, the soft rubber tips are ideal. Prevents your legs from being scratched by the rebar's rough edge.
I used these to cover a 5/8 stud from one of my big outboards; the 5/8 is a little loose, but I used silicone adhesive to keep it in place.
My brother built shelves for me in my garage, but they were in the way of my car door opening, so I scratched it. These were ideal for covering the protruding portion of the shelf's flange. I now have a backup plan in place. They come highly recommended from me.
This is exactly what I needed to replace the endcaps on my bird bath. I'm not sure what happened to my old caps, but these are much more comfortable. I found exactly what I was looking for.
These black caps are a safe way to protect people and animals from steel rods' sharp top surface. They don't split even though they're very close together.
