My husband's workshop has a pegboard, so I tried it out on one of the end hooks. It was easy to put on and take off. If you want a tighter fit, go with a 3mm, but be aware that it will be more difficult to put on.
In the bag there are 100 caps.
Mine were not even an inch long, I believe.
Possibly, depending on the size of the bulbs, but it appears that there are simpler options.

This product will keep up with the umbrella tip repairs if you have an old umbrella and don't want to fill up landfills.
They work great and eliminate the risk of being slashed by protruding wire.
My peg board has metal pegs that are 1/8" (3mm) in diameter. I couldn't decide whether to get 3mm or 3mm. 5mm. I chose 3mm because it's the smallest size. 5mm was too loose, which would result in additional issues. The 3mm was a tight fit, but I discovered that squeezing them between my thumb and forefinger and rolling them around for a few seconds stretched them out and warmed them up a bit, making them easier to slip onto the peg. The caps have a length of 18mm (7/10") and are made of plastic. A hundred pieces were included in the bag. br>br>The purchase was satisfactory to me.
However, what arrived were bulbs that fit on the bulb but did not completely cover it, allowing the light to turn on and glow. The point was to get ones that covered the entire bulb for a complete blackout effect; I wasn't happy with them, but they weren't worth returning. br>br>false advertising and incorrect product; do not purchase unless you have a bulb system half the size of a normal small bulb.
It's a Christmas miracle, to say the least. Now I can hide the LEDs between the trees for a professional-looking light display outside, and the 5mm spacing is ideal for a standard LED string light.
I used these to cover some metal pegs on a craft cart so that things wouldn't fall off when they were being hung. They were a perfect fit and did the job well. I simply didn't require as many as I did. But, if I can remember where I put them, they might come in handy at some point in the future.
For pants, we have metal clothes hangers with rubber caps on the ends. These were purchased to fill in for some that had gone missing. They're "alright," but not quite as thick as the originals. They're simple to put on and perfect in fit - I just wish they were a little more durable and thicker.
The fit is a tad snug. We believe we ordered a size that was one millimeter too small. Keeping the water out is still possible. Metal pins that are used on storm shutters. Storm shutters are required in a Florida home, and the original caps had to be replaced because they had dried out due to the heat.
