Do you think this will work on a dump trailer with a cylinder using hose at the bottom and hoes attached to the top?

You can use it with your cylinder, yes

The hydraulic cylinder that I have only has one hose connected to the bottom. Can the inlet hose be used ?

One hose is all that's required for a single-acting cylinder

I bought this for replacing a very old and out-of-date monarch power unit that was used for a dump insert. It was one of the few 12 volt hydraulic power units, that I could find on Amazon, that were manufactured in the United States. In addition to the instructions, a few sheets of diagrams, and recommended oils, the unit arrived with a few sheets of recommended cable sizes depending on distance covered. No matter how heavy the load is, the dump rises faster and is very quiet even without a load. I found it to be a quality product from the very first moment I opened the box - to the moment I installed and tested it.

I will update after I use it for a while if I remember to. The 12-week update has been posted Over the past few months, I haven't had any issues with this unit while moving cord wood.
