Zurn RK34-70XL Wilkins Repair Kit for 0.75" Models 70, 70DU, and 70XL and for 3/4" Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) 70 Series

I bought this repair kit because my Zurn Wilkins 70 is 14 years old and all the parts needed to be replaced. followed the video instructions on how to do the repair and the replacement kit worked just as I had I now have my water pressure set at 70 psi, which I measured at the faucet, and I feel at ease that it will not put a major strain on my home because of too high a water pressure. Below is a picture of the old parts and the new ones.

If you are comfortable with the use of a few tools, the repair kit makes repairing your pressure valve a snap. Make sure you have all the needed tools before you begin, however. Read the directions carefully and read the directions before you begin. These are not the usual DIY tools, although they are few and may be out of reach for most people. Including the trip to Auto Zone to buy a 1 1/8" socket I owned but didn't have with me, it took about an hour for me to complete the task. Fortunately, I had already purchased a 1 3/4" adjustable wrench but I believe a 1 1/2" would have worked just as well.

I had bad water hammer, measured the water pressure and it was the same as street pressure at 95psi. Added a rebuild kit and was able to adjust the pressure down to 45 psi. Ensure that old inner o-rings are available Make sure this is ringing before you put it There was no way to remove mine. Although this carrier is made of plastic, it does not need to be quite tight.

I was able to avoid the costs of hiring Below are two thoughts on the matter You need to find a way to protect the pipes when you open up the old bell housing if you have an older unit that's on tight. Be sure to use a water pressure gauge and set your pressure to the recommended level recommended by your local water company. They can be purchased here on Amazon and are attached to the outside I have no problem with it.

A good fitting valve and a fix for the pressure problem were achieved. Price is about the same as buying a new valve, however, I was not able to replace the valve due to its length being one inch shorter than the old one, and I couldn't cut it and install it myself. Use the existing copper pipe to fit the new valve.

Having noticed that the water pressure in my house was very high, I set my Wilkins pressure regulator to dial back but could not make it lower than My regulator was rebuilt using this kit, and I was able to control my water pressure down to a reasonable level of Easy installation and clear instructions contributed to the ease of installation of the kit. Having said that, the price seemed a little steep, but it was definitely.
