It's a 1" pvc, but it comes with a 3/4" reducer.
Yes, they'll screw together, and the thread size is unique to Orbit, according to what I've found.
I'm Janice from Orbit, and I'd like to introduce myself. You simply glue PVC to the slip part after using the 57191 to the 57202. I hope this helps!
It's Kentucky math: buy multiple packs of single units and save money if you live in one of the other 49 states.
Selected User Reviews For Orbit 57191 Slip Manifold Transition Adapter, Green
Orbit's valves aren't my favorite, but their manifold system is fantastic. Simply combine these transition adapters with Orbit's swivel adapters and manifolds to create a valve set that allows you to replace a valve, filter, or pressure regulator without the time and expense of digging, cutting, gluing, and so on. Built specifically for valve boxes, these tools make it simple to remove and replace valve box components. br>br>If you build your valve assembly correctly with these manifold adapters and a couple inches of extra PVC, you can simply unscrew your old parts and screw in an identical new part in the best case; in the worst case, you can still replace the broken part with something that isn't the exact same length and glue in a short length of PVC and a new manifold adapter. In either case, no digging is required, and the cost is minimal. br>br>Three Orbit Slip Manifold Transition Adapters can be seen across the bottom of the photo. They're glued to the valve box's white PVC pipes, which run straight down and out. The Rain Bird 100-series valves are used. DVF- The leftmost valve is NPT and has a combination filter/pressure regulator for drip irrigation.
br>I'm crossing my fingers that the orbit valve system will hold up. I'm fed up with weddings centered on irrigation. Three PVC unions broke on the seam, causing the old valves (not orbit, but another brand (RB) that lasted about 112 years) to crack and leak, forcing me to throw in the towel and start over with this orbit system. br>br>Thus far, everything has gone well.
I wish I had kept the package for the photo, but the diaphragm arrived smashed and faded, as if it had been left out to dry after being wet. Although the diaphragm was scuffed and worn, the wiring was still in place. Regardless, I installed it and it worked perfectly. It appears to be a return, but if so, a small discount would have been nice. Because of the simplicity of the design, there are no issues with functionality.
This is the section I've been looking for in town. It is not available in stores at Home Depot or Lowes. It's compatible with the orbit MPT manifold swivel adapter, which measures 1" in diameter. These two parts, when used together, make installing sprinkler valves a breeze. Because plumbers don't use these two parts, if the valve breaks, you'll have to cut pvc pipes and glue new pieces together instead of simply screwing off the broken valve and replacing it with a new valve in minutes. My iPhone is currently broken, so I can't show you what I'm talking about.
This is an OEM part that is used between the threaded valve adapter and 3/4" and 1" pipe. 3/4" pipe fits inside, while 1" pipe requires a 1" PVC SxS coupling.
It surprised me that they weren't available at my local Home Depot. So, the next time I need a system valve, I'll go to these guys. br>Excellent product that is very simple to use.
Is this product suitable for my needs? If it was threaded directly into the valves and fitted into a three-way valve, it would be ideal. PVC pipe, quarter-inch.
Everything went according to plan.
