As far as interior sheetrock goes, you can use the smaller one without anchoring it, but if you intend to put weight on them, you should anchor the larger ones. All of these hooks, no matter what type of container they're set in, are not designed for holding heavy weight or coping.

I suppose they work as cup hooks, but I have used them for other things as well, such as hooks for hanging necklaces, anchor points for the bungee cord that holds my window fan in place, and hooks for hanging tools in a board behind my workbench. As far as I can tell, they are doing an excellent job in all instances. This may be a strong hook, but it is not designed to be heavy. They are quite suitable for my use, and they are fine for me. My guess is that they are medium duty, not heavy duty. Their plastic case is a nice way to store the assortment. I had a latch problem on mine, but the rubber band that came with a bunch of asparagus kept it closed just fine for me.

I am so far very satisfied with the hook assortment that I received. They are a nice assortment of screw hooks to have on hand. So they get 5 stars from me.
