Having bought a second set of these magnetic hooks from a different seller (from a different seller), I am familiar with them. They are easy to use, versatile, strong for their small size (1/2" diameter), and can hold up lightweight curtains and rods on metal In order to address some negative reviews that occurred when the hooks didn't work as expected, I am copying and pasting my first review below. It is generally understood that a magnet's PULL STRENGTH measures (in kilograms or pounds) the amount of vertical force required to PULL the magnet away from the metal surface it is attached Then, applying that to these magnetic hooks, it would mean that each one can hold about 22 lbs/10 kg before it will PULL AWAY from the ceiling when it is stuck to a metal ceiling. In other words, they do what they advertise and they do it It is important to keep in mind that if you intend to use these on a refrigerator or other stamped metal that the magnet strength They can hold about half a pound of weight on a steel storage cabinet door when using them to hold hats. Also keep in mind if you use this on a vertical surface that they will slide and walk Even though this is common, you may need a stronger set if you plan to use these on thin stamped metal.

A couple of new patio lights were delivered, but I had no idea how to attach them to a carport. It is heavy for light to be this Magnets with hooks were found at a local store. It's all taken care of now. The underside of my carport is the perfect place for them.

It says it can hold 60 lbs, but to be honest, I was pretty skeptical about it. I wanted something to hang plants from on a metal cabana I had. Is it possible to hold plants with so small a magnet? According to what I am told, they do not look flimsy at all as I thought they might. Magnets grab metal firmly when they come close to it, so I grabbed the magnet close to the metal. Besides being very sturdy, the hook also seems to be very well built. This was my first attempt to hang a plant, and it worked beautifully. The rest of the cloth hung on the wall, and I waited for a nice breeze to see if it would dry. There is nothing! I had no problems with the magnet or hook holding, and even with the plants swaying gently in the wind, neither did the wind affect it at all. A shade cloth around the cabana will be held up with these because we bought more. I find this to be my new favorite.
