Make sure that wires or any other objects do not rub against metal, Run wires through a frame, the firewall or sheet metal.

Cut the rubber plug to the correct diameter, then snap it right into the hole in the drill press.

Questions & Answers

You have to remove the material inside the grommet to allow wires to pass through. What is the method you use to do that?

Blade that is normally used for box cutters. It did not seem like it would be necessary to remove the rubber. To make the wires pass through, I cut at the "x". The rubber I wanted to keep intact was the remaining rubber.

The maximum plate thickness it can handle depends on the grove thickness. How much of the plate will fit in it?

Twelve millimeters is the thickness of the grove. The diameter of this piece is 7 millimeters. Plates can be up to 5" thick, and their maximum thickness is up to three. This is a 5mm / 0mm gauge. A 14" screen.

Does this fit nicely in a hole that was drilled with a 2 inch diameter?

In short, yes. It was for that purpose that I used them.

How do I fill a 30mm hole with this? Are the warnings from California Proposition 65 included with this product?

The diameter of a quarter is 25 millimeters. A 4 mm thick piece of paper. It's not hard to figure out.

They are industrial grade, as far as I can tell. The product meets the description exactly. They are industrial grade, as far as I can tell. The depth is right at 3/8 of an inch, and the elastic does not stretch. The project I am working on is precisely suited to them.

Two pieces of the ground were cut down by the previous owner (a clown) I punched a hole in the firewall that was one and a half inches in diameter. They needed to be plugged in and I had to run some new wiring to the engine at the same time. These grommets were ideal.
