In short, yes. Using a 2" hole saw, I'm able to cut them

In the pack I received, I received a top that was 1/8" thick with a depth of 5/8" (bottom of the hole cover to the end of the shank). I agree with you. Three-quarters of an inch.

What is the diameter of the opening in the lid? Can it be used to hook up a single hose on a washing machine?

There are two pieces to the insert. It would be possible to install a water supply line if the smaller cover was removed.

Are granite and quartz countertop materials compatible with this design?

If you drill a circle into it, I think it would work.

Great! Good luck! Do you need an access hole for running wires in a clean manner? The IKEA Eket cube required a hole made for charging cables to pass through

You did an excellent job. The cables can be run through them as they pass through the wall. The outside diameter had to be wrapped with electrical tape a few times because the hole saw was not the right one. Worked like a charm. I love the way it looks.
