It's 500ml (according to the T2 website). That brings us to the number 16. 8oz. The standard tea infuser size (16-cup) for bottom dispensing. The most common size is 18 oz. I'd remove the if it were up to me. You won't fill it to the brim, so 8oz will give you some extra room at the top. One large 16-ounce mug or two 8-ounce mugs can be made. Depending on how full you fill the cup, it can hold up to 9 ounces.

Is it possible to put it in the microwave?

You should never do such a thing. It's made of plastic and won't work in the microwave.

Is it possible to heat in the microwave?

You are not permitted to do so. At the bottom of the steeper, there's a metal filtering screen.

What size cup should I use, or can I use a mason jar with a wide mouth?

The tea maker can hold around 16 ounces of water.

This infuser comes in handy when I want to make my own garam masala chai. It's simple to see how the loose tea is steeping to get the strength you prefer after adding the loose tea and hot water - It's great to be able to put the infuser on my mug and have the tea dispense without any leaves. It's simple to clean, and the bottom mesh cone can be removed if necessary. If stains appear, a little baking soda can be used to remove them.
