While the container itself is great, it's almost impossible to remove the lid

I think it's a really nice container. I was surprised by how thick and sturdy it is. There is a problem, though, since the lid is hard to remove. My experience has been that it is much easier to get off if you dig your nails into the bottom of the lid along the sides (rather than trying to pull it up on the tab) and gently pry it up in a few places without pushing it too far.
