Questions & Answers

Is there a rough estimate of how much it weighs when filled with water? I'll have to carry it for a little while. Cindy?

A gallon of water weighs 8 pounds.

Is there a level indicator, similar to a fuel gauge, so you can see how much is left without lifting the lid and letting the heat out?

There is no gauge, but simply lifting on it will give you an idea of how much is left.

Is it possible to store hot milk in this container? Is it going to stay hot for a long time?

We use ours to make hot chocolate, and it keeps the temperature warm for several hours.

Are these resistant to splashes and spills? Is it guaranteed that a full container will not spill if it falls over in a vehicle?

It's not guaranteed, but it shouldn't spill if it's transported right side up so it doesn't tip over and the sprout is in the off position.

At the BBQ, there is coffee
5/5

At a charity barbecue, I used this. It's fantastic to finally own one of these. It costs around $70 to rent one from Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. When I learned of this, I decided to purchase one and make my own coffee. It was a great success. This will pay for itself several times over in the long run. Cleaning is a breeze. It keeps the coffee hot for a long time. At 6 a. m. , I started making coffee. 30 a. It was still hot when I took the last cup at 6 p. m. 30 p. At the very least, I'll require two more. One is for hot water, while the other is for Decaf coffee.

There is no assurance of quality
3/5

I'm fed up with poor workmanship. These containers came in three colors: black, blue/slate, and white. There had been numerous complaints about the spigots leaking, so I was on the lookout for issues. I removed the spigots and washed them according to the instructions. There were no gaskets or washers on the blue one. They'd all gotten wind of it. The openings in the holes were not filled in. Around the holes, there are rough surfaces, large pieces of shavings, and manufacturing residue. When tightening the fittings, these jagged edges caught the washers and twisted them away from the fittings, allowing liquid to flow through. In this area, it appears that there is no quality control. I was successful in locating washers and o- There should be enough rings to complete the task. I don't have time to wait for the right items; I have an event to attend. For redress, I will contact the seller. I've spent/wasted more than three hours on this problem so far. If you don't look at these as soon as you get them, you might be disappointed.

Heat, durability, and quality
5/5

All aces. First and foremost, I had to let this bad boy go. TWICE! There was a time when it was empty, and there was a time when it was These weren't "oops, nothing to see here" drops. They were knocked out from the waist down. They did not suffer any harm. No spouts were broken, the lid remained secure, and no explosions occurred. It turned out to be amazing. Second, from 330 a. m. to 1430 a. m. , this bad mama jama kept 5 gallons of steaming hot chocolate on the stove. I am blown away by the fact that after 11 hours of being sealed, there was a minor heat loss. Finally, 10 seconds after opening the box, I thought I had broken the stupid faucet. Two twists join the faucet and the container at the faucet. My container connection snapped when I twisted it. Without a doubt, I believed I had made a grave error. Nope! Everything went off without a hitch. It's obvious that it's supposed to separate. br>br>I told a lie. One more thing to say - When filled, the item's weight was manageable. The 5gl container item is awkward to carry due to its size, which is also why I dropped it. br>br>I used this for a last-minute Christmas market at my bakery's farmers market tent. Who was out in the open. It was an excellent solution. br>br>I'd buy it again ten times over.

Cambro is outclassed by the practicality of its design
5/5

Thermal servers such as these are frequently used in our company. We've had great success with the Cambro brand. Now that we've used both the Carlisle and the Cambro, we can confidently say that we prefer the Carlisle for a variety of reasons. The latches are a lot more robust. Cambro latches are extremely easy to break off. The vent is a very common style that, if necessary, can be replaced with one from any store. The volume is a true 5 gallons, as opposed to 4 3/4 gallons for the Cambro. That's convenient for us because we use these for coffee and all of our brewers are set to brew 1 gallon batches, giving us the ability to make 5 full batches. Both the Cambro and the Carlisle are excellent servers, but the Carlisle has the advantage in terms of design practicality. In addition, the Carlisle is more affordable.

The lid has a significant leakage problem
3/5

This jug was given to me, and I used it for a day before it tipped over in my SUV. There was a flood in my house. The lid should not have leaked, but it did. This indicates a lack of quality control. In addition, we purchased a 5 gallon jug, only to discover after reading the fine print that it is actually about 2. Approximately 5 gallons That is completely unethical. Dishonesty and poor quality are not qualities I desire. It is being returned to us. Shameful.

Expectations were exceeded
5/5

I've only used it for hot beverages so far, but it's exceeded my expectations in every way. We filled it with boiling water so that everyone could use it to make their favorite powdered beverage (hot chocolate, hot cider, instant coffee, etc. ). We had about half of the contents left after that, so we let it sit overnight to deal with in the morning. It was still burning my hand when I finally dumped it nearly 12 hours after filling it; I grabbed a nearby food thermometer, which read 137 degrees. It's been 12 hours. AFTER TWELVE HOURS,.

Because our activity had been delayed due to COVID, we used the drink server for the first time a month after ordering it
3/5

The coffee began to leak as soon as it was poured into the container. The spout system exploded out of the container, according to the volunteer who was preparing the coffee, burning him with hot coffee. It could have been a serious burn, despite the fact that it wasn't. We contacted Carlisle the next day and have yet to hear back. We're stuck with a useless piece of junk because it arrived one week after Amazon's return deadline! We bought two containers, one of which is functional.

It keeps the heat in, but it stinks and leaks
3/5

It does a good job of keeping the water warm. After 6 hours, steam was rising, with a chemical odor but no taste, which I believe is due to the fact that it is brand new, but I followed the instructions for using the gasket seal and did not overfill, but if it tips over, it will begin to leak. I had no problems because I didn't fill it to the brim; however, when I had to tilt it in the car, it leaked all over the place. Because you can't fill it up nearly to the top without it becoming dangerous, it probably won't hold as much water as advertised. So, it's functional in general, but it has a few serious flaws.
