The most likely only situation where I would prefer the flat washer that sits between the cap and housing is with water with very fine sand. An outstanding performance.
Water from ditches is pumped to lawn sprayers by straining it through this device. We completely eliminated the problem of plugged sprayers by getting rid of foreign particles large enough to clog them. The product was great. The seller was great as well.
