We were not able to solve the problem

This is not a test I performed. We were not able to solve the problem. Neither I nor my students tested it before they were given it to me in the lab, but they immediately reported it was not changing the I took a small amount of pure starch and dropped it into the solution There is no change in color. My tests with glucose and sucrose showed no difference There is no change in color.
